It's been the MOST rewarding plant in my garden and gives me a BIG harvest in summer and again in winter. I love everything about it - from the beautiful flower to the fact that the fruit grows SO quickly from day to day. I have great fun showing my grandchild the progress! Plants last for 6 years. My boys planted strawberries in our little community garden plot (alas, we live on a shaded woody lawn on the side of a hill--no good areas to garden here), and when I told them it was time to visit the farmstand they asked me why I couldn't make jam from *our* plants. I found a polite way to tell them that a handful of berries does not a half-year's jam make (if it gets that far).Haus Frauhttp://teasready.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
