Reason to Rejoice!!
My camera and connective cable were not not dead, only maimed! With a day of rest, and new batteries...all seems to be working fine now! Hurray! Good-because I have pictures to share! ;-)
This week, I have really been working hard to take care of the not-so-fun but necessary projects that needed to get done, along with trying to put my house BACK together again as it was dismantled piece by piece. Changing winter/summer clothes over and sorting for a yard sale, among other things. I am only half-way done.
Now that the weather has turned nicer, one of my PRIORITIES was to tackle the FUN-and-needed task of getting our patio furniture out on the patio. Since it was used (minus the umbrella) in our KITCHEN during the winter, we now have a huge open field of linoleum in there, pleading for something, ANYTHING, to cover it. I still haven't decided what to do about that.
But no matter-we practically LIVE outside in the warm weather ever since we were gifted our patio set. Lunches are daily eaten on the patio, dinners often and I can ALWAYS be seen sitting out there with one project or another on my lap during naptime (at least until canning goes full speed ahead...)
So-indoors goes out and I have created my own little haven. Come, have a looksie...
Potted geraniums line the stairway-the two upper ones were made even fancier by adding a few other flower and foliage into surprisingly inexpensive (it pays to shop Amish!) urns.
Behind the large table, there is an additional seating area with two chairs and a drink table for guests. It is strategically located in the SHADE of the patio. Behind it is a gorgeous plant (can't think of the name) that I have added white lights to for nighttime entertainment. To the right is a little plastic picnic table for the childlings to sit at and to the left is my newly acquired planter stand. It can be enjoyed from anywhere you sit and seems to create more of an outdoor 'room' atmosphere. As you can see, it needs to be filled up a bit more! :-)
I lined the edge of the patio going out to the yard, with some of my 'herbies'. I have planters on the ground-and more fragile ones up on this make-shift bench (HOPEFULLY to deter any Panda or Dutchess 'accidents' from taking place...) I was quizzing Corynn today on the different mints we have-apple, pinapple, speari and peppermint. She also knows which plant is chives. Give her the summer and she'll know the rest by sight and name.
Here is my big pot of 'herbies'. I am happy to announce, my sage overwintered indoors perfectly well. I have a flowering climber for the cross.
And THAT is my patio! I hope you enjoyed my itty bitty tour!
You have created the perfect outdoor room, Rebecca! I love it!! I know you will spend many happy hours on your patio!

What a gorgeous patio!I just love the idea of outdoor rooms! You have such a flair for decorating. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteYour patio looks lovely as ever.. And the part you didn't show is the beautiful views from your patio- it is so relaxing and peaceful :) Enjoy!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so nice and inviting. And how lucky you are to be able to put out, all those growing things already. Still have to wait for Memorial Day, up here.... to plant.

I do so love my patio. I have to stop myself from mourning its absence once we move, and rather enjoy it fully while we are still here.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth~I *thought* about making a shot out into the yard-but I was a bit embarrassed by the dandelion field. Matt has been working a bit at a time at it with our measley broken push mower, I feel so bad for the guy. He tries so hard.
Mari-Nanci~ Last night was a danger of frost-and I forgot to bring them in. Thankfully, they seemed to get through it just fine!

(For more reasons than patio enjoyment, of course, but that's a definite perk.)
I love your patio too. I also like all of your pretty plants.
