Have you ever seen how the bees get the pollen to the hive? They catch it on their front legs and wipe it all on their back legs and rump. It is really neat. Even the smallest details God has planned.
On a side note: if we didn't all know bees sting and are NOT friendly, I would say this picture makes it appear like a cute, soft little fuzzball.

He seemed too preoccupied with his work, to notice me! But I will say it was TOUGH to get a clearer picture-those bees are faster than I once thought!
ReplyDeleteYou know what I learned by reading to Matthew and Stephen from a "Magic Schoolbus" book? They don't just rub it on their back legs-they have little "pollen pockets" back there where they collect the pollen! How neat is that?! (And I am most definitely NOT a fans of bees of any sort!)
ReplyDeleteThe picture on the other post did not show up on my computer, but I hope you do realize that this is a bumblebee and not a honeybee, and it's the honeybees that everyone is concerned about!

True enough-but there were LOTS of bees in all shapes and sizes at my bush...this just happened to be the one that held still long enough for me to take it!
