2)

You shimmy a slide up to a hill instead of a swingset.

No. Matt hasn't built the slide onto the swingset yet.

BUT. He said I was going to be getting my tire to make my sandbox today! (WAHOO times TEN!)

AND. It is perfectly handy, having the slide at an incline (no matter how it became so), especially when we put the sprinkler next to it. Half slip and slide. Half mudpit.

And all is well.

  1. The waterslide looks like SO much fun!!! Yippee about your tire sandbox, I can't wait to see it!
All three of my kids still love playing in the sand although right now it's a sand "lake" with all this rain! LOL

  2. Rednecks with really red necks (like I was growing up) shimmy onto the sawmill AND the quonset hut and slide down their metal roofs, risking life and limb for the sake of the "slide."

My brother Luke and I used the sawmill as a playground; we balanced a piece of lumber right next to the giant sawtooth blade for our "teeter totter", used the beams for "balance beams," and even once took our sleds onto the roof in winter because we thought it'd be a brilliant idea to slide down that way. We only made it a few feet up the snow-covered, slick, tin roof before shooting off the end.

Thanks for bringing back such fond memories. :)
