Not quite


I woke up early this morning, so that I might catch a glimpse of the lunar eclipse-and maybe try my hand at photographing it. But, the moon was no where in sight. The clouds, I guess, decided to shield the moons magnificence. Did anyone else see it???

Needless to say, the post I had envisioned today is not going to be.

Instead, I leave you with some photos along the same line. Still God's magestic creations-just not the celestial ones. Have a good day!

    The eclipse was supposed to start around 3am here on the west coast, so I wasn't really planning to get out of bed at that time! I am sure we will be able to catch a picture of it somewhere in the media.

    I SAW IT! We were up at 5 AM, and just the top of the moon was dark. We thought that perhaps we missed it, so we went back to bed. At 5:30, I couldn't sleep, so I got up to shower, while Verne got dressed to go for his run. He came back into the bathroom, and told me that more of the moon was dark, so I got dressed again, and headed outside. We woke all of the children, and sat on the front porch watching the full eclipse. Finally, at about 6:10, we had to start the day, but we had seen the entire blackout. By that time, the sun was starting to rise anyway. So, we got science out of the way EARLY this morning!

    I love times like that. There we all were sitting in the dark, on the porch, in our pajamas. No money spent, but making memories. Tying heartstrings that will last a lifetime.

    Down here in Australia it happened in the evening, between about 6pm and 8:30pm. DH, photography nut that he is (LOL) was out there with his tripod the whole time. It went an awesome shade of copper.

    It was the first lunar eclipse visible in my part of the country for seven years. Co-incidentally, I remember the last - we'd all converged on my inlaws' house for a grandparent's birthday party, and I had a 2 week old son at the time. I was telling him this story last night - he was quite enamoured with that little gem, LOL.

    I unfortunately was in the hospital. There were a couple of Dr.s in my room looking out the window for it but they said they couldn't see it.
