Before the kids were scooted off to bed to get rested up for a new day, we decided to enjoy the mild evening and went for a family walk. We walked over to the landfill, for several reasons. May I just add-it is a RETIRED landfill-covered up and escavated...so no, it doesn't smell. No, you can't even see 'junk'.
At the peak of the junk mountain, you can see quite a view.
The path to get there is very beautiful.
It is right next door-and not across a road, so the four-footed member of the family could join us as well.
Besides-one never knows what small trinket of treasure might have been unearthed just for small fingers to discover.
We laughed, we explored, we visited. We enjoyed being together.
We stayed out until the sun was nearly gone and the moon was shining so very bright.
And then we forced ourselves to head home. It was a lovely ending to the day.
I'm glad you clarified about the 'retired' part of the landfill...when I read you took a walk to the landfill, I was thinking, now why in the world would they want to do that? lol
ReplyDeleteI love the shadow pictures you took. They are really neat!
Oh, and I didn't know Matt was a twin! Do twins run in the family then?
Evenings such as those create such wonderful memories! I'm glad you got to enjoy it and each other!
ReplyDeleteCatherine, I knew I should probably clarify because when I re-read that, it sounded a bit strange even to ME. :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't THINK twins runs in the family, they were just a fluke. :-) I HAVE always wanted to have twins though.... :-)
The silhouette pictures are great. I really like the one of the three of them.
ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker for silhouettes, and I really like the one of the three walking, especially with Corynn's little bonnet half-off.
