Virtual BOOK SALE

I am always a bit clutterphobic come February. I have been holed inside the house for too long; I've bruised shins by walking into piles of books, stubbed toes with the toys lying about, and generally become sick to death of trying to organize that which we do not need in the firstplace. It seems an annual (if not monthly) thing for me to de-clutter and rid ourselves of the excess that always seems to build up and eventually replace itself once again.

I appreciate all that we have but also, find great value in the simplicity of having only that which you will use. So it is, that I find it important to send along things that we don't often use to people who WILL make good use of them. I have taken two carloads worth of 'stuff' to the Salvation Army and have another carload to take care of in the garage, waiting for the newly fallen snow to melt. I have donated lots of movies and books to the library. I have quite a list of things to put onto Craig's List and ebay. It's easy to get rid of KID stuff, or things I don't really value too much anyway (like that hideous giraffe mug I was given, for example), it is decidedly MORE difficult to get rid of things you love. Like books, in my case.

We do not have nearly enough bookcases for all of our books and the result is piles of books leaning themselves against desks, nightstands, and all manner of furniture. As much as we love books, it was high time I start to weed through some of them. Books are a constant thing coming into our home~book sales, yard sales, good deals, gifts...we won't be sacrificing that, but we can make ROOM for those newbies by getting rid of the ones we don't often use.

All this to say: I sorted through my sewing room bookcase and I have quite a stack of books that need new homes. I thought that, since many of you all enjoy crafting or sewing or gardening as much as I do, you might like the pickings. MANY of these books are in like-new condition...I *gently* flip through those treasures and keep them nice. All others are in *good condition*, though some are older.

This is a trial run. An experiment. I don't know if anyone will be interested, but I thought I would offer them here before putting them on ebay or donating them to the library. If this works well, perhaps I will do the same with some of the OTHER genre's of books (like Fiction, Children's, etc.)...

Here is the deal:

Following is the list of books, by title and author.

Each one will have a LN (like new), G (good), and OV (older version) next to it. The LN books are $2.00. The G books are $1.00 and the OV are free for the taking.

All books are first come, first served. I will keep them available until Friday and I will ship them out MEDIA MAIL on Saturday morning. Buyer to pay all shipping costs...which will be evaluated once you have given me your book order.

You can leave comments in this post or contact me via renaissancereaders@yahoo.com if you have questions or orders. I will accept PAYPAL.

  5. Shannon~ The Kids Rooms book was published in 2001. I crossed it off, to be sure that if you wanted it, you could have it, since you called it first. If you decide you don't, please let me know ASAP and I will un-cross it off the list. ;-)
