At the end of the day I fall into bed, lying flat and stretching, back flat, after a trying day. I love that. It feels SO good to lie there and stretch my body. With and within me, Bunkin stirs, stretches and jostles as if sharing in my joy.
Twice now I've thanked God for modern medicine and the opportunity to peer into my womb from a screen and watch Bunkin move about. A living, feeling, heart-pumping, life-stirring, joy-giving, yawning and smiling, fingernail clad CHILD. A child, fearfully and wonderfully made by God, sharing a piece of Matt and a piece of myself within that tender, tiny body. God created using US as His instrument. It is a majestic thing.
That ear tuggin' looks a bit familiar....
I realize that the first minute of the video it is not clear whether an alien resides in me at worst, and at best: it isn't clear whether you are looking at a head or a bum. Golly~ it is hard to get a clear image out of shadows formed from echos, after all. I made this video of our appointment today because Corynn was so bummed she wouldn't be able to go see it herself. Small doctor with an even smaller office means no children. Ysh. For those of us who appreciate 'still lifes' more than muddled move-y videos, I post a Bunkin portrait from a few weeks ago. S/he is waving...
It has been crazy busy here, with no real future outlook of slowing down. Tis the reason I haven't been posting lately, and the reason I may not be able to continue the pace I seem to always keep up with. At least for a while.
Good news: I can happily say that we are about 90% packed.
Not quite good news: It looks like our things will be staying packed a lot longer than I had hoped~ and that we are going to be 'roughing' it for what MAY be months. No improvements have been made to kitchen OR bathrooms. *sigh* This will be an adventure....to be determined: whether it will be a good one, or a bad one. ;-) All I know is this: there have been construction workers working on the outside of this house since November-and it was hard. How much harder will it be to live among construction workers INSIDE my house? I certainly don't want to wake up with an Amish man working in my bedroom, that's for sure and for certain!
Lots of work and worry. Lots of opportunity to be overcome. But I refuse. I choose to take this moment, THESE moments to bask in the wonderment of Bunkin.
And I all I feel is awe.
That was so sweet of you to share that with us. What a blessing! Are you going to find out if its a little miss or master? We are re-modling our house while were living here. I can say that waking up to strange people walking around outside was hard enough. Let alone possibly in your room! But going upstairs and looking up with no celling or roof was not something that I really wanted to see! lol Good luck in these next couple months. Ill say a prayer for you :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the video of your u/s! It was neat to see your precious little one moving around. We've chosen to never have an u/s (for multiple reasons) so our first glimpse of our sweet little ones is at birth. I was able to explain to the older boys how our new baby is doing the same kinds of things even though we can't see them.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear that your new house is not as near completion as you had hoped. It is reassuring to know, though, that the work being done is quality work. And at least it is summer so "roughin' it" will be a little easier. Again, if there is anything we can do, please, let us know! We'd love to help is whatever way possible. :)
P. S. Just wanted to clarify about u/s. If the need ever arose for us to need one, we would surely find a way to get one. ;)
Oh, sweet baby pictures! I couldn't play the video, but I'll try when next time I'm at my moms.
ReplyDeleteMy Lil' Bit is finally starting to be more active (which is a relief after the heart beat scare). She seems to look the right side of her little home. I often feel a hard spot on the right side of my stomach, and kicks and stretches in the evening. I love sseing there growth and developement in u/s pics, and there little feet and hands. I think I need to go look at her pictuers now...
At least you'll have lots of land to explore and picnic on, and a newer town to go discover whilst your house is being worked on. And family not terribly far away, I'm sure you'll come up with "escape" plans if haning around construction gets to be to much. Just 'cuz I'm curious, will you get to have a say on any of the new things (I don't know whats being replaced) that will be going into the new home? Oh, and are you guys gonna name your farm?
Thats all I can think of for now, Hooray for being mostly packed! I knew you would get it done, and you even turnrd it into learning for Corynn to boot!
What a great video! And how exciting. I'm glad that you're packed most of the way.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... when I was pregnant with my third, we had to be out of our house by a certain date, but couldn't get into our new home at the same time. We lived with friends for several weeks, sleeping on a pull out couch in the living room. Mac was 3, Autumn was 1 1/2! It wasn't easy, but it worked out fine.
As I write this the contractor's guys are removing our deck (ripping it to shreds, actually). It was ugly and creaky when we moved in 8 years ago, and now it is (uh ... was) positively unsafe! I don't enjoy the intrusion of workers, but in one month I will be SO HAPPY! You'll manage the intrusion (and post wittily in the process) and one day you'll look back and say, "That was just AWFUL, but I'm so glad we did it!" I'll miss your regular posting, but I surely understand the priorities of a wife/mamma/teacher. I'll keep you in my prayers. : )
ReplyDeletechasnlndsy~We are holding out for a surprise...though it is killing us to do so! ;-)
ReplyDeleteMrs. Bonnie~ yep. We are naming our farm-working out the details, and mulling over choices as we speak! ;-) As far as having say, unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be the case. They will do it the way they want to do it, and I will be happy because it will be new-but I know there will be things that are going to have to change, once the new wears out. ;-)
I'm glad blogger is cooperating today for me! Thanks so much for sharing your video- As the hospital we've always used doesn't allow any video or photos of any ultrasounds or even deliveries, this is a treasure! I'm glad you have it of bunkin :)
ReplyDeleteYippee! A surprise! All of mine have been surprises and it is sooooooooo worth it! Your little one is too cute, Rebecca.Blessings!
ReplyDeletePrecious, precious!
ReplyDeleteYou take it easy during this summer move, Mama : )
The first baby I've seen inside that wasn't mine!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to meet this sweet little wiggler. Hurrah!
