I had great plans for a day at a Discovery Center today, but they were thwarted, much to the Little Miss' great disappointment. The sun shone bright today, the sky was blue, a gentle breeze blew and I KNOW days like these are few. (And lookie there: I am a poet!)
Fact is: I hate winter. Despise it. Loathe it. Detest it. But I thank Fall for the last few precious days gifted for my sanity, and try not to let them pass by without taking full advantage.
An utterly disappointed girl but a sunshiny day just screamed an impromptu trip.
I chose the Pumpkin farm.
My heart is still thumping at the realization of "only 10 weeks to go". I guess I hadn't that about that, just that I'm 29+ weeks. Gulp. I guess I need to start sorting baby clothes, and looking for a new baby bed. (we need one that is Brady-proof)
ReplyDeleteThe trip to the pumpkin farm (Iron Kettle?) sounds delightful. Is that a goat the kids are looking up at in the second set of pictures? I can't quite make it out...
Hey, maybe you'll find some treasures to use when cleaning out the barn! Or is it mostly trash?
OK. I'll hush now.
Bonnie
Yep-ten weeks. I keep thinking how fun it would be to just forget about all the stuff still needed doing (like unpacking cooler weather clothes for us) and just plop myself down by the 'newborn clothes' to gush and 'awwww' a bit. Someday soon I'll be able to focus some real attention to this Bunkin o'mine, but not just yet, I guess. SO many things I wanted to do! I have a quilt top nearly done for him/her-but it is packed away in who knows what box. Another mystery is my sewing machine. And my sewing box. Sigh. I had such wonderful plans to create so many wonderful things in anticipation of this sweet one....
ReplyDeleteYs. That is a goat. They see kids coming and practically trip over each other to climb this silo contraption to get treats from children via a duct-taped drawstring can. It's a really neat invention.
As for finding junk: I don't quite know if these barns are capable of any GOOD surprises right now. But you never know. We have ALOT of work to do before spring (and our hopeful anticipation of animals) but I just can't think about it now. The house is overwhelming enough!
It looks like you had a grand time. I miss fall a lot! That has to be my favorite time of year. There are a few pumpkins in the stores, but they look rather out of place amongst the swimsuits and palm trees!
