What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

The Bunkin List

Posted by Picasa

Today has been a gloriously productive day. It started, as any other day, with a Papa kiss, then silly bed conversations with two children---but early on I could tell it was going to be different. Excitement was in the air and I deemed it a "BUNKIN DAY". A day in which, I was going to devote all my energies to getting that list of "pre-baby" stuff dwindled down to nilch (or as close as I could come...)

It has been so SO long since I felt motivated, energetic and productive. It is SUCH a great feeling. Sort of like a socially-acceptable high. (Free, too.)

Interestingly enough, to-do's NOT on the Bunkin list are being crossed off just as quickly today. School is done, pizza dough (for dinner) is rising, the car and spilled chocolate milk are no longer associated with one another (don't ask), laundry is on the downswing, the kitchen and dining room floors are swept, the dishes are done, the fingerprinted mirror shines flawless, the toilets are cleaned, the carseats are switched around and all of this: in addition to what I hoped to accomplish today.

By sharing how thrilled I am at this mediocre accomplishment, I am revealing just how pathetic I have been in the productivity department lately. So-how is THAT for being transparent?

Now: on to my BUNKIN LIST.

As opposed to "The BUCKET list", this list is in anticipation of BABY, not death. I haven't completed all of it, but I am making good progress. I'll check em off as I can. Maybe I'll even show you the end results in picture form, tomorrow! I am THAT excited! ;-)

Sounds like nesting to me!!!!
Constant inquiries are being made by the residents of Brambleberry Cottage, "Have you heard anything? Has Mrs. N... had the baby? Is there anything on her blog?" To which I keep replying, "No, not yet. Sighhh."

But, I know you will feel much better about having the time to get things the way you want them.

BTW, Rebecca, have I ever told you how happy I am you have this blog...so I can check in on you?

Love and prayers,

WOW!! You have been on the ball. Now you need to fix yourself a cup of tea, sit down with your feet up and soak in that feeling of accomplishment. You deserve it.

I, too, love the pre-birth boost of motivation/energy/excitement. I feel like a whirlwind, going about the house, doing a gazillion things to the point where Dave will tell me to SIT DOWN and RELAX! hehe

Blog post. CHECK!

Now, I, zero months pregnant, feel like an utter sloth. Ahhh, it doesn't feel half bad, though.

And can I just say how glad I am that you decided to attempt to push yourself into labor today rather than yesterday? ;)
