What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Corynn has been busy

While I was working on a project in the craft room one day, my followers found me and settled in to work also. Andrew, in the making of a rhinocerous picture on the floor out of scrap fabrics and string. But CORYNN, she was determined to work on a REAL project.

I wish I could say I happily obliged and set my work aside with a smile. I smiled and set my work aside, of course, but inwardly I groaned "UGH! The MOMENT I want to work on a project...I have to help THEM with THEIR projects. THIS is why I can never get anything done!" There. Never say this blog just shows the beautiful and good. Because my attitude was not beautiful or good at the time.

But I shoved those feelings aside while mustering a cheerful countenance (on the outside) and set Corynn to work making a bib from the same pattern I was using.

This project was start to finish-hers. Of course, it involved embroidery. And choosing her own fabrics. But this time, she traced the pattern herself.

And cut herself.

And sewed herself (on her Janome Hello Kitty Machine).

And even installed snaps herself.

I was there to guide and direct, encourage and teach. That's it.

Funny. Though I sacrificed my small window of opportunity to work on my own project, I was later given a larger window (during rest time) that allowed me to start and FINISH my own project. I still haven't figured out how that worked...

So what was she making?? And for whom???

Wow. I am seriously impressed. GREAT JOB Corynn!
You did a beautiful job, I can see you have been watching your mama carefully!

I had to laugh at the tissue paper patterns- All mine are that way too!

It was God blessing you for putting Corynn first. That is where your window of opportunity came from. So glad things worked out.

As you know, Rebecca, my kids are all teenagers now and my one big regret in raising them is that I wish that I set aside MY projects and helped on my KIDS projects much, much more than I did. That is a lesson that I have learned from watching you, and I have tried to implement around here more often lately (especially with Orangeblossom) who is still young. I guess, better late than never.

I am feeling soooo guilty right now. I do not set time aside like that for my kids like I should...I am so selfish and greedy with my time. Corynn did a fabulous job, and it is clear that she admires you and your efforts. Eli was sitting beside me looking at the pictures and was saying "kitty mama"...you have definately inspired me...you always do:)

Sometimes you just have to stop and enjoy the moments given you. I adore the bib she made. The babe seems to like it, too. I like the sucked in little smile with her Dad. This time together is worth so much more to everyone. The ripple in the water. The children will remember and do projects in the same loving manner. Once they get over themselves and enjoy their moments. Putting the children first is a giant leap for mankind. Arh! Arh! Did it feel like it....patience is a difficult virtue! Take care and stay well.
