I've gotten to be a very bad blogger these last two weeks, haven't I?! tsk, tsk
And to think some days I would blog every day. sheesh
Reason #1: I have upped the anty in our schooling "regimen" (adding more art/craft projects, memorization, first language lessons and spelling: and still need to do a better job with SOTW)
Reason #2: It's almost Christmas
Reason #3: Lots of entertaining and company
Reason #4: It's almost CHRISTMAS
Reason #5: Well, that about does it, I think.
Not that there aren't LOTS of things to blog ABOUT---just that those things are being enjoyed in real time just long enough to savor and move on to the next bit of wonderfulness....with no time (presently) to record it all.
And that's okay.
I have a whole SLEW of Homemade Christmas Gifts (yes, I capitalized those words on purpose, thankyouverymuch) to show you~and more Christmasy pictures to share... (all of which will come VERY soon!!!) but before I do, pardon me while I get caught up on some little bits of life from the past few weeks too sweet to forget.
A girl flies to dreamland with her lunchchair as the rocketship:
A Father gets (and gives) some lovin' :
A Little Miss spies an amazing (and $300.00) wooden play store in a catalog (the ONLY toy catalog I let my kiddos peruse: Magic Cabin and HearthSong) and copies it as best she can (free):
A family stands placidly while a boy gets decapitated:(the guy in gold and my very own man are twins, though you wouldn't be able to tell because of the beard. Otherwise, the resemblence is remarkable.)
Children break bread, pour water (not turned into wine), gather green construction paper money and light candles in worship one Sabbath evening and we all sing and pray:
A girl hasn't learned just yet about male/female roles in the church. :-)
A boy is ready to conclude the impromptu service prematurely and wrecks havoc on this soul:
A grin melts my heart:
I like reading the story of your lives :) It is a joy for my soul. The children are just so beautiful I cant stand it!
ReplyDeleteAnd fun was had by all it seems.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I should be crafting right now, but am I ? Oh no, sitting on my duff, though in my defense, I WAS looking for a wallet pattern to go with my sisters purse (bought purse, not made), and so I tiptoed in. Lunch is calling and so are crabby cranky children....
What a wonderful time! I sit here surrounded by bits of felt, thread, and batting which is driving me batty.. ha ha! The sun has not come up yet but it is light out (10:18 as we speak..) so I think I'm going to don boots and try for some stunning winter photos. Taking shots to remember this by in years to come! Don't know when we will see this type of white Christmas again. Baking cookies and mailing packages in a bit... but we taking time to enjoy each other! I want this Christmas season to be special. To build memories for years to come. I just realized that my baby, my firstborn will only have two more years at home full time and it breaks my heart. So I will enjoy the time we have left together all the more!! :)
ReplyDeleteMy bloggy is suffering a lot too...but I figured that was ok! You are right...peoples are more important that ANYTHING! LOVE THE little sleepy angel photos!:)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your HANDMADES! :)
Thank you so much for your card! I was SO excited to get it! :) I didn't know your last name, so at first, I was like, "Who in the world?" but then I let out a excited sorta noise and dh was like, "What's up?!" and I was happy to share it with him! You are SUCH. A. GOOD. WRITER.
Thanks again! :)
Oh Rebecca, I am so sad you and your family cant make it to the Christmas get-to-gether...but I wont mind if you decide to change your mind at the last minute..and Matt says..."Hey...why dont we go anyways!" and you say "Great idea...lets go!!" No...I wont mind at all. But even if that does not happen...Have a VERY Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year...and we shall have to get together VERY soon :)
ReplyDeletereally lovely story. But why do there need to be male/female roles in the church? Are we not all equal, would a truly loving god discriminate. I think not.
