There are occasional moments when the dinner preparations can wait, the toilets deal with not being scrubbed, the toys scattered on the floor aren't quite so vexing to a mother and I realize that I have not heard in childtone a story, anecdote, or question for several minutes (!!!) .
When I find the children, lost in their own world-but together, I can only sit on the couch and stare into that world window.
It's a beautiful place.
It's a beautiful life.

Indeed it is. Glad you take time to enjoy the moments.
I feel like that at times too, Rebecca. :-)
What a wonderful, lovely spot by the window to study & play...love it! :) Sitting on the couch sounds like a fabulous idea! :)
That look like one of the old fashioned pictures you I've found on the web. Very soft.
But i have another story i wanted to tell you - way off the subject. I was posting pictures on my blog Memorial Day evening of my husband and I and the kids around the campfire roasting s'mores and a memory suddenly popped back into my head that had been long lost in my memory banks. That memory was - the time I happened upon your blog about a year or so ago. I was searching on Google for something and somehow I stumbled up on your blog, which had a picture of your husband and kids around a campfire, mostly silhouette shots, maybe roasting marshmallows? I can't quite remember. Maybe I'll try to find it in your blog archives sometime. Anyway, I loved the post and I saved it to my favorites. From time to time I would check to see if you had posted anything new and to my dismay, you never did. I thought to myself, "Oh, I wish this woman would have kept blogging. I know I would have liked it and I know I would have liked her. Oh well." This went on for months. Then when we got a new computer I tried to find the blog again and guess what? Surprise! Surprise! I found your actual updated blog! Then I realized I had only saved that actual "post" to my favorites and not your real URL, so of course it never got updated! So I spent hours reading through all the posts since that fireside one until I was caught up and I have been caught up ever since (about 6 months now). immensely. Anyway, I just thought you might enjoy that little tale, even though it's taking up your whole comment area. (Sorry!)
Funny how remembrances pop up once in a while and bring on a good smile. (p.s. You were one of the inspirations behind me starting my own blog. And now I love it. Thanks!)
Wow, I should have previewed that last post and fixed my typos. Oh well.
Love it!
So precious Rebecca....kind of gives me home for my future and all these kids...that there WILL be quiet times ahead...ahhhh
Aahhh...those blessed peaceful moments ;) And what a beautiful photo to remember this one by!
