My parents are foster/adoptive parents (did you know?) and there is a new baby in town~ born too early at 2 pounds 14 ounces.
(Jealous of the name~ wish I had used it: Aletta. Gorgeous, am I right?)
Anyway, I couldn't stand the thought of that teeny little head being cold on top of being all corded and tubed and taped, so I made a wee hat. And by wee, I mean.... WEE.
That little hatstand is actually a candlestick~~~
For anyone interested in making one (or many):
I thought I would share the pattern I created:

So sweet! One of my little guys was 2 pounds 6 ounces when he was born. . . they are SO tiny at that size. He was smaller than my daughter's doll.
That hat is so adorable, she'll look like a little princess!
What a lovely and sweet idea. That would be a neat thing to do for a hospital. I have yet to talk with your mom, but I did hear about the baby. It is going to be a long haul for that dear thing. I need to call your mom to see how she is doing.
Wow! How cool that your parents are able to open their hearts and home. The hat is adorable, Rebecca! Now if I could only read patterns! :P *crossed-eye-look*
Praying for this sweet baby!
Too cute! Like They Call Me Mommy, I can't really read a pattern but I'm betting that someone where I work can help me.
Oh my! That is too cute.
My Taytay was born 9 weeks early. I woke up fine that day and early in the evening my water just broke. No reason. No explanation. I guess she got tired of waiting. :o) She weighed 3lbs 10ozs. She was so tiny but with a full head of hair!
Absolutely adorable. Your skills are constantly growing, and it is such a pleasure to see. Didn't I tell you, you were a natural?!?!?!
Mom told me of the baby hat you made, but I didn't get to see it first hand..It's tiny, but so lovely!!! :) Perfectly feminine, just like her name :)
That is a gorgeous hat! I love reading your blog-so glad I found it. I wonder how big the hat should be for a 15 month old? It would make a really cute Valentine's present for my littlest niece.
Adorable :)
I love this! It reminds me of a (not as) tiny berry you made for Lucinda, and BOTH of them make me want to take up crocheting!
