Three months since Mr. Brave One gave his notice and stepped out into the unknown and faith-building world of the self-employed.....
he got his first job!
PRAISE GOD!!!
After a good days work, we celebrated with a candlelit dinner on the patio,
the first bruschetta of the season and most importantly...
DESSERT.
(Many have asked what my Misters' new business is. In short, it's Dragon Taming)
Yay!!!!!! I'll be over for leftovers in about 6 hours. If I speed.
ReplyDeleteSo many people write about marriages, about encouraging husbands or wives to use their talents, of supporting them through the lean times and so on. You and your husband live it out according to me. Very inspiring to see. Thank you for sharing your personal moments with us. And Congratulations !!
ReplyDeleteYay! Thank You, Lord!!!
ReplyDeleteNo worries on the bloggy commenting...I've been so absent...just trying to get stuff done around here, spend the time I need to on all the little people and the big wonderful man, and prepare for upcoming stuff especially school...
I know, it's intimidating, isn't it? Two in school!!! I've been struggling and thinking and PRAYING like crazy about that...I will specifically be praying for you!
Postcard headed your way, friend!
P.S. Those brownies look divine. :)
PRAISE GOD FOR provision!!! yeah for creative hubbies!
ReplyDeletewill keep praying for you and your family's endeavors!
I must tell you we drove from cleveland ohio to a wedding in melvern PA... all i kept thinking's of was you. we even took a detour off 76 traveling 30 to Gettysburg on the way home and thought of all of you more!
one lesson my hubby is now learning (we are the ones who are over a year in our own business), DO not under charge and underestimate your ability, charge for what you can do!

We praise God alongside you, though our sigh of relief is probably not quite as loud. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a gift!
With all the rain, killer slugs are eating our tomatoes. Thank goodness they haven't yet discovered the brownie plants.
Congratulations! I have been thinking and thinking of you both! What a blessing!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to hear that. May the Lord bring much more work his way. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats Matt! We are so excited for you and continue to pray for the growth of your business!
ReplyDeleteBTW, are you going to give us that mouth-watering brownie recipe or not?!?! :P
ReplyDeleteIf Leah gets the brownie recipe may I have the bruschetta recipe? :-).
ReplyDeleteVery happy for your good news!
Praise God :)
ReplyDeleteBobbi~ I really appreciate hearing from you when you comment. It is wonderful to know there is someone out there who has had similar problems (and conquered them by the grace of God). Gives us hope and encouragement! Thank you for piping up every now and again!
ReplyDeleteLeah~ It was a canning day and I decided to make him dessert about 30 minutes before he was to get home and what spurred the idea was finding a box of brownie mix in the back of the cupboard. So no recipe. :-( I *did* spruce it up with some praline pecans and caramel sauce (leftover from after Christmas super-clearance and our ice cream social during the 12 days of Christmas!) Anyway, in truth, I haven't ever found a brownie recipe comparable to the boxes anyway. They always turn out try for me.
Louise~ now the bruscetta I can do! And we are about due for some more anyway. ;-)
p.s.
ReplyDeleteYou remember those brownies I brought to church around Christmas? The ones you loved? The ones with a ganache layer for which I used your heavy cream?
They're not from a box (wahoo!) and I posted the recipe a couple of months ago. Next time, keep your heavy cream and make some yourself! :)
