Warmly

Why is it, do you suppose, that even though there is ample floor space in the living room here...

and here....

...that the children would cramp themselves in this teeny tiny corner to play?

Because, you see, if you look closely by Judah's head---you will see that there is the grate in the floor that just so happens to be directly on top of the woodstove in the basement.

Smart (and warm!) children.

  3. "Hey, howdy-doo-day! I know what I'll do with precious vacation time," says Rebecca. (That's you.) "I'll be crazy and decorate Abigail's bare blog with comments!" sez she.

I thought we had an agreement, Missus! I showed good sense and restraint by posting one (one) catch-up comment after months of shameful neglect. You showed me up and how. Furthermore (furthermore!), Matt will now blame me for precious minutes wasted.

    I can take it.

(Also, thank you. They were fun to read, and you were kind to waste your time so.)

p.s. Regarding this post, a similar instinct causes my children to spend long hours in the downstairs bathroom, in which we have a small space heater to use while showering on bitter mornings. I don't know how many times I've pressed my ear to the door to hear the heater's sound, knocked, and had Millie sheepishly open the door with her math book and pencil in hand. Yup, hlearning in the bathroom is the way to go these days.

  4. Carla~ smart (and warm!) lady!

Abigail- WHAT?!? That WAS showing restraint! I very easily could have commented on every.single.one. Besides, we are having a sheetrock/spackle party over here that 1) is occupying Matt's time marvellously and 2)is requiring all the living room things to be moved elsewhere and thus creating pandemonium in the entire house which can not be remedied until the sheetrock/spackling party is over. What ELSE is a girl to do in that case?

:-) Thanks for the fun diversion.
