| Poor Corynn got stung by a fruit wasp while picking apples. This face was three days in- when the swelling had begun to subside. (Poor girl.) She isn't as anxious to help pick apples anymore. ( Poor me.) |

It seems strange we are eating watermelon and drinking apple cider at the same time. Maybe this ISN'T strange- I have never had a successful enough watermelon crop to know for sure (until now) but it
seems odd. Almost like summer and fall are playing duck,duck,goose to see who is up next.
Tomorrow is going to be almost 80 degrees and we are going to play hookie from school and visit the pumpkin patch. Because- when an almost-80-degree day happens in October- you
don't ignore it.
I'd love a glass of that cider.

Your cider looks soooo delicious. And hooray for skipping school if tomorrow is 80 degrees. We're down to the 50's so definitely no hookie from school here :-)

Wow, I want to know where you got that jar with the old-fashioned top and the spigot - I could use a couple of those. Your photos definitely bring back memories for me. Although I'm not going to be partaking in any cider making down here in Mexico my grandkids in Northern California still do, in the same place where their dad used to help us make cider.
ReplyDeleteI actually got that jar at a yard sale a few years ago. But I did see some at Target last summer! And I am sure they could be found on Amazon too. That is so sweet (about your grands)

Amber- that sounds like us with bananas! Yes, we've had fun making cider SEVERAL times now- I really should so something like applesauce or I will lose my chance!

Oh, yum! I've been so thankful for the free fruit this year, too. Such bounty! Trees leaning down with food for us wherever we turn.
