What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Woodland Feast

We feasted on fresh nectarines, grilled pork loin, potatoes swimming in a sea of saltbutter and Matt's favorite~ blueberry pie, a la mode.  All trekked to a secret spot in the woods dubbed The Clay Cauldron for the spot of wet clay that can be dug and shaped and played with at the bottom of the creek trickle.  We hauled baskets and blankets and flowers and a lantern all (swiftly and secretly) yesterday afternoon as Matt puttered about, clueless.

It was a glorious feast among ferns and fungi, ending with a gift found in a hobbit hole and a game of hide and seek for all.  I sought.

We all decided a Woodland Feast for the Papa is a good Father's Day tradition for every year- but maybe next year we'll forget the 'surprise' part and use the tractor for hauling things into the woods too. It took some gumption to get a load to the woods and get back before the pork needed flipping on the grill.

This is a wonderful idea Rebecca! Since our Father's Day is in September, I may be able to copy the idea & change it just a little...
I had to smile at these pictures. My hubby also grows a beard for winter & shaves it for summer ( he says it's warmer during the colder days). He's just regrown his last month! Had to smile at yours beard-less.
Love the picture of the tractor bucket filled with kiddos etc. Ours is filled with children often as well!
Blessings
Renata:)
