When I came downstairs to find the kitchen in the state it is in, with milk from milking time still to be poured but not until some milk jugs are first cleaned and made available in a kitchen where there is literally NO counter space on which to work...well, that is the most depressed I've been in a while.
It doesn't help that my entire body is sore and achy from the yard work I did outside yesterday.
This is what happens when a day turns sunny after a week (or two!) of straight rain.
The house goes all to pot and I don't care a whit.
Until I have to clean it all up.

OH my goodness, thank you for this post!!!!! I absolutely 100000% understand the house going to pot! I am living it right now. Let's just go to a coffee shop with the babies together and knit and maybe it will all be just a dream... ;)
xx
PS Your photos are beautiful! Truly! You make messes look enchanting!
I get it. Thanks for sharing. We moms MUST stick together. ;) Working on writing you back!!! :)
Looks pretty darn normal to me. I always said, "Homeschooling is like running a 24/7 gas station convenience store; there is never any down time." My mom would tell me to lower my standards and I would reply, "If my standards get any lower, I'll have to retrieve them with a post hole digger."
Take heart, little children grow older and more helpful, their messes get smaller and life gets easier. Just press forward cheerfully and make happy memories.
Int the exact same boat, right now. Thanks for lifting my spirits in showing me there are many of us in the trenches together!!
Thank you. Your post made me feel so much better. That is all I have to say about that. ;-)
I feel ya. I have pictures on my phone that I have taken of mine from time to time before cleaning up. Then I take an "after" shot just to cheer me after I'm done. Life happens. Houses are really messy the more children you have. I don't know if you are like me but the kids rooms in disaster mode drive me the craziest. I honestly want to get in there and just start throwing things away. I have done that actually. Messes make me want to seriously declutter. But, one has to clean first and therefore my decluttering is out off most of the time. Great to hear your "keeping it real" attitude. If you were a lazy mom you probably wouldn't have gotten any comments or feedback on this post (well none positive...LOL) but we've been reading long enough to know what a hard worker you are! Almost every evening I have to leave the supper dishes and table (unless I remember to have the kids help...I know it's crazy I would forget that but I do) and head out for my garden time. It won't wait right now. The dishes will. Sigh. Hope you're cheered up and have a fresh kitchen to make you smile. :-)
