While Picasa has been dead for a long time, I was still able to miraculously use it up until recently. It finally went KAPUT! and who wants to blog if you can't get your pictures off your camera?!?!
What are you using to photo edit and store?
I am looking for something simple and free, if possible.
And when I find it- I will be back to blogging again. I miss you all.
And frankly- this face needs to be seen:

Blah! (Said Toad.)
I feel your pain. When Picasa bailed on me a couple of years back, I was at a loss, too, but after the initial dismay, I just started using the stock photo program loaded onto our old clunker-- Windows Photos. When we got a new-to-us computer a year and a half ago, it had a newer version of Windows Photos, and since John supplanted that last week with his computer, I'm going to start using whatever stock program is loaded on that. Perfect? Naw. Suitable for my purposes? Yep. I would check whatever program (Windows?) you already have on your beast and see if it has what you need.
I know I've told you about Gimp before. It's a free photo editing/manipulation program that can do pretty much everything Photoshop does, though it's not as user-friendly. If you're just looking for simple edits, it'd be like using a zero-turn mower to cut a 2-square-foot yard, but it might be worth looking into if you can't find anything else to suit.
Basically, what I wanted to say was, JUST FIND SOMETHING. WE NEED NEWMAN-BLOG DIVERSION HERE ON MOUNT HUNGER! Also, we've got your grocery order waiting here for you. I'll email you soon. ;)
p.s.
In a pinch, even Google Photos has simple editing capabilities. If you upload a photo to edit and go to the edit section that has the "sliding bars" logo thingy (I'm so technical), it will drop down into "light," "color," and "pop." If you click the arrows next to "light" and "color," you should have most editing-- and some additional-- options that Picasa had, like exposure, highlight, contrast, warmth, saturation, etc. There's no "blemish" tool, to my knowledge, though. (If that's even what Picasa called it; I can't recall.)
Ah, good old Picasa. Yeah, I just use whatever Windows comes with, but then again, I don't really edit my photos, so I'm not sure that's helpful.
Sorry, can't help with photo editing... but oh baby--that face!! YES we need updates! When did he go and grow out of infancey? The days drag, but time flies. Hope you're all well.
I'm such a dope- I didn't even know how to get to a stock photo program! Or even that our computer had one. Thanks for the help! I really wonder how I can even function in todays' society.
Matt showed me last night how to access it... and we discovered that the problem is not necessarily in Picasa but my CAMERA.
sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo......
