Our dog Ruby has just in the past spring become blind and old and can't seem to keep the weight on her anymore. She's feeling her age.
But she's loved just the same.
I looked out the kitchen door to see Moses saddle on up to her and started whispering in her ear. And that was so cute.
And then, he covered her up in his blanket and I about died.
Love it!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. We had a black and white dog named Ruby. She lived to be 15. She was part English Springer Spaniel and part Border Collie, and possibly some other breeds in the mix. My heart still aches when I think of her, and it has been more than 15 years since we lost her. Nothing like the love of a dog! Such sweet photos!
ReplyDeleteSweet Ruby... it's so hard to see a beloved pet age. We had two blind dogs. One passed last summer at 13 1/2, and his littermate is now at the end of her life at 14 1/2. She's a trooper, but every day it gets harder, as she also has cancer. All we can do is love them and set them free of their pain when the right time comes. It's the final gift we can give to them. And until then, I think Moses will take good care of Ruby. Very sweet photos.
ReplyDeleteThis is sweet and makes me sad. Did you know that the Ruby-lookalike we tried to convince Matt to take home is also named Ruby? If your kiddos ever want to visit, she's right down the road, and I know the pastor and his wife would be happy to show her off.
