When Linda came out for the weekend, we headed to a nice little antique shop that was brimful of treasures. Of course, most antiques are out of my league as far as pricing but I DID nab a few good deals. Here are some of my 'treasures'.
A crochet table runner, peach and white. Very spring-like!
This beauty is going in my bathroom. The color scheme in there is dark purple, lavendar, ecru and sage...so you can see why this is so fitting!
This doily is dainty and pretty-and perfectly replaces the wintery placemat I had in this spot. A much needed change. All of these crocheted pieces are spot free and hole free. And each was just a bit over a dollar! As I am learning the art of crochet, I see only the WORK that goes into each piece and I feel guilty buying such handmade love for just cents.
The last thing I got is extra special. It is a beautifully handpainted plate. Just gorgeous.
All of these things were in my hands for less than $9.00! Can you believe it!?!
I was also recently given a teaset from a lady at Matt's work. A WHOLE porcelain teaset-just GIVEN it because the girl didn't want it anymore!!! It belonged to her grandmother. I have always wanted one of them! Anyway...I spotted the exact same teaset at the antique store for
$75.00!!!
Well, thanks for looking at my newest treasures!
I was "drooling" when I saw your plate- It is so beautiful, you lucky duck! It's good I wasn't there, or I would have snatched it first, in a sweet, kindly way of course :)
