Happy Friday to you all!
Snow is blanketing the earth once again...and long past are the days of sunshine and warmth. I am not going to let it get me down though. You know why?
Because I don't NEED the sunshine today. Today I just need a chair, a needle and thread, and some time and I will be happy as a clam!
My dear friend Nancy and I got together again last night. Somewhere along the way, our 'crochet nights' have evolved into 'craft nights'. Neither of us can be boxed in to just one type of art...and I find it hard not to utilize her amazing gifts and willing spirit to learn more myself.
She taught me how to do a hidden zipper so that I could *finally* finish my skirt. The practice zipper was amazing! I could have framed it-I was so proud! But alas-I did things all wrong with the actual skirt. I followed the pattern, which made things more difficult, used a difficult fabric, needed a SIDE zipper instead of a back zipper (more complicated due to fitting instead of straight), and the list goes on. So-we came to a wall. We need to work a bit more on it before this project is completed.
Since we had a bit of free time after that-we worked on some embroidery stitches. I have been TRYING to master a french knot-but to no avail. Even though I followed the instructions to a TEE, they always fell through the fabric. Instead, she taught me a colonial knot-which is stronger and EASIER to do, but looks exactly the same. So-I have grand plans for some embroidery for today! Hopefully, I will have something to show you come Monday!
Have a great weekend and a very Happy St. Patties Day! May your bellies be full of corned beef, might you find a promise rainbow, and might you outwit the leprachaun for his gold! ;-)

Hi Rebecca
ReplyDeleteI came over from godzgirlz. I'm just curious....? Is it a huge American tradition to eat corned beef on St Pat's day?? I've seen it mentioned on a few blogs..makes me curious.. guess I could google it..
Anyway it's nice to 'meet' you
take care
Heather
I would say so...though it hasn't been a tradition in MY family. In fact, I never put two and two together until a few years ago...
ReplyDeleteAre you from outside the US...I ask only because you said 'American Tradition'...just curious! I know I have a friend in Australia and some friends in England who visit me here, I think it is fun.
Thanks for stopping by-it is always nice to hear from visitors!
