On a Roll
Finished cleaning out the armoire and changing clothes over. One more check off my to-do list.
I went up to the attic in search of newborn things and was sad to realize I can't find my newborn girl bin and that much of the newborn BOY things are riddled with yellow staining. I *know* I wouldn't have packed away clothes stained like that. Weird. Guess I will have to head back up there again sometime to scout out that girl bin---and guess I will have my work cut out for me if Smooch is boy!
I did find a few neutral gowns and a "coming home" outfit for either a boy or a girl.
Glad to have that project done and over with.
~~~~~~~~~
Yesterdays' all day craft marathon was not as all-day as I would have liked:
Got a late start.
Stayed up town longer than I would have liked.
Came home to a cow escapee.
Spent time getting grain to lure the rascal back in.
Had to fix the fence.
Meanwhile, cut open my ankle on the fence.
Then had to clean it up.
Then had to go out and rehang half the laundry line that had been pulled off in his naughtiness. (Thankfully, no clothes were ruined.)
Finally got into my craft room.
Worked for 2.5 hours...
Used up ALL my hotglue.
Realized I had only bought about 1/3 the tulle I needed.
Then had to meet Matt.
That was the day.
Despite all the distractions, I was able to finish a few super-duper cute projects. (awwwww)
And I am on a roll~I have a two hour rest time window I am going to utilize to keep that ball a'rollin' as soon as I hit the publish button.
I am resigning myself to SMALL projects these days. No marathon coming-home outfits in my future. But that is okay. I am having fun with the small things.
Barring no baby, I will show off some of the projects every day next week! yay!
There. PUBLISH.
Methinks perhaps you should change the cows name(s) to Houdini. Been there, chased cows at my best friends house, yep, they're rascals. Looking forward to your projects, I finally got the felt veggies DONE. But no picture yet, 'cuz I'm still trying to make a basket, and am out of brown felt.
Bad cow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:{
Can't wait to see the projects!
You have time. No baby until the 27th!
Sounds like your making progress! Now if only the livestock would behave......= )
wonder if a bug got into your baby boy clothes?
Maybe you can buy some SHOUT or other tough stain remover (i've had good luck with shout on the clothes of a nine month old who adores all kinds of pizza, lol) and pretreat the boy clothes and wash them, and perhaps they'll be just fine?
Good work Momma bird :)
Ack, critters sure make a mess when they get out don't they! ((hugs)) Hope your ankle heals up quickly.
Thinking: Perhaps finding only boy clothes is a "sign"
;-}
Here is a great "recipe" for getting out old baby stains...It is from a lady who owned a used children's clothing store:
Put 1 c. Clorox 2 and 1 c. powdered Cascade (dishwasher soap) in 5 gallons of the hottest water to come out of your tap. (The bathtub is a great place to do this!) Soak clothes overnight and wash. You may have to repeat once or twice - on some things, but, it should work.
Can't wait to find out what baby Smooch is!! :)
The same thing happened to me when I got out my baby bins for Daisy - yellowish stains on some of my whites! Recently one of my friends introduced me to Oxy-Clean. Try soaking one of your items in a bucket with the prescribed amount of Oxy-Clean for an hour or two and see if it does anything.
I went through all the baby clothes the other day and found the same thing:( I will have to try one of the soaking methods! Praying you have some luck getting your stains out.
Wow....so productive....LOVE that little dresser! Can't wait to see you sweet little baby!
Do you store your baby clothes in plastic totes? The lady who owns our local baby consignment store told us that she never stores clothes in plastic (totes, bags) because the plastic draws the stains out.
That little dresser (and the little one inside it;) is so cute!
If you need baby clothing, I can get you some... I am a yard saler extraordinaire! I am expecting my 6th (we have 1 girl, 4 boys) and just in case, I have been getting some girl clothing. I have boy clothing to spare! I just bagged up a ton to give away. And this weekend is a big neighborhood sale I could look and find you clothing. I love in western pa.
Anyhow, just a thought!
The same thing happened to my baby clothes. I was like NO WAY did I store my precious baby clothes looking like this. I think the heat makes the stains come out or something. If you stain-treat it, it should come right out. Mostly. Good luck!
Rebecca...Oxi Clean. It takes all of those yellow out. You have to soak it though. Its magic. Leah was right. Trust me...everyone but Isaac was a spitter. Hooray for progress!
