What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Link Love

Just some links I am loving these days.

Blogs are handy little things, I don't have to overload my brain with these "someday" project plans. I can overload the blog with them instead.

~ I admit it, this gorgeous organic yet whimsical bird mobile has been on my "list" for too too long and I still haven't done it. First it was going to be a Christmas present for Addie Mae. Then I thought I would do it while pregnant with Judah as a new-baby crafty celebration and now Christmas and birthdays are over and babies are born and spring seems a good enough reason. No?

~ Every time I (attempt) to make something for myself, it turns out great but looks hideous on me. So much so, that I have up until this point, given UP of making things for myself. But maybe this little number will change things for me. Looks easy enough and seems to be a flattering dress any which way you wear it.

~ Is this bonnet not most darling thing you have ever seen? It is so beautiful it actually takes my breath away. Posie Gets Cozy is selling the pattern and shows all sorts of different versions on her blog. I think this bonnet would be a beautiful addition to the girls' (non-existent as of yet) Easter ensembles. And not too too hard to replicate?

~ This sphere doily lamp is amazing. I love it in white. But wouldn't it be cool with dyed doilies too? Must make. Three.

~ This crochet version of a gnome hat is one I have been looking for for a long time.

~These hats are beyond precious. I love their vintage style. I love that they are made from re-purposed materials. I love their button closures. I love the sweet little brims. This is the best thing I have seen so far from MADE's Celebrate the Boy month. And there is a tutorial for a blanket to match!

~ Not a DIY, but I can't help but oogle that wonderful hat! When did we lose our fascination with hats...and WHY?!? Maybe I will stumble upon a similar one in some antique store somewhere for mere pennies. Wouldn't that be grand? It may be my mission in life to single-handedly bring back gorgeous hats.

~ And if you need some laughs, maybe you should see the latest "must have" from Anthropologie. For a mere $20.00 too! I just NEED one of these.... ;-)

HAHA! This is so funny. I was looking through my reader today and was like...man, I should share all these cool ideas I keep star-ing. :-) Then maybe I'd remember them or at least maybe someone else would do them and I could live vicariously through them! ;)

GREAT idea! I love the way you shared the photos...is the lamp one not working?? Or is it just me!
Oh my. All those baby hats! The gnome one. To.DIE.For.

Amen! Rebecca! Bring back the hat!. We have 2 daughters and keep an eye out at thrift stores for hats for us all. We've found beauties for pennies. When not in use, they look nice on the hatstand in our entryway. My husband has a few hats he wears too-picture men's hats from the 1940s (and, yes he removes it in church!)

We saw an historic look at hats on a TV news program last year, during the spring racing season. It was interesting. Apparently hats for women fizzled out as a fashion in the 1960s, when beehive hairdos became popular. Then whichever Pope was in charge at the time (No I'm not Catholic)gave women permission not to have to wear hats to Church anymore, and this filtered through all the Protestant churches as well. Back in my grandparents' day you wouldn't step outside without a hat.
The children's hats pictured are super cute too-Can you tell I love hats!!

I love the gnome hat. You need to do those. You could likely do them lickety split. And as for hats for ladies - some of us believe God still wants us to wear them for public worship.

I might not write too often, but I love checking up on you. Have a great week!

1. The bird mobile is The Very Same One. I bet my friend reads the same blogs as you.

2. I saw that dear bonnet on rosylittlethings, too, and immediately put it on MY list! (I bet you five bucks you make it first...)

3. I share your love of hats. If I ever chop my hair, I will lament all those I discarded when we moved from Buffalo. (Remember how dorky I looked at C&C with mushroom hats and long hair?)

4. All of these "moth and rust do corrupts" are wonderful! Thank you for sharing. The paper bag is...inventive.

(And why must I give my five cents worth when even two is too much?)

I am a hat junkie, but sadly have few, not not a lot of confidence to wear them.
The dress- oh I want one! And the boys hat! I've been watching the celebrate the boy too but missed that one somehow. Hmm, winter hat for my JB's giant little head next winter.
I think I have a hat pattern nearly identical to Cosie's, I wonder where it is....

P.S. That lamp is really neat, and I thought my word verification was hormonal. Its not, its *honal*. Teach me to glance and assume.

Thank you so much for the "Posie Gets Cozy" link. I downloaded a crochet blanket pattern from there the other day, thanks to you.

Oh, and I like that brown DRESS more than the hat. Oh, for the lost times of women wearing dresses every day at home. (I try to wear dresses frequently in the summer.) It just makes me feel that much more feminine for the day.
