What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Little Cabin In the Woods

Andrew's cabin in the woods~ not quite done, but mostly.

It's hard to take pictures of the space with my camera because it is a small cabin and I don't have a wide angle lens... but you'll get the idea.

(bet you now recognize that picture on the shelf)

This is the loft space.  It has two cots and a hammock suspended from the ceiling.  It is suspended out and over the loft floor, hovering 12 or 15 feet over the lower level so it is a leap of faith to sleep there.

Of course, that doesn't stop Andrew.

The stone underneath still needs to be finished.

I believe they plan to add battens eventually too.

There is no electricity in the cabin so Andrew got solar powered lights for his birthday.

Ambiance is important for all those guy campouts, after all.

And when your son gets annoyed with all the pictures you are taking, you take even more in rapid succession until he can't help but laugh.  Because his real smile is worth it.

And then you make a gif out of it.

Because you are THAT kind of mother.

That is a great hunting cabin. About how far is it from your house? I'm assuming it's on your property but I probably shouldn't.

Thanks for the update on family and home(s)! I loved it!!!
You've got a beautiful family, and a big heart, which shines through in them. May the Lord bless you all.
And don't worry when kids fly the nest, that is after all what you bring them up for, to live and fulfill their own God-given life!

Marybeth- yes, it is on our property. It is a nice little walk if you are just doing so for pleasure. If you are taking anything with you (food, water, camp gear) though, you need some wheels. ;-)

Monica- looks like our families have another similarity! That is precisely how tall Andrew is! (Good eye! You must be a seamstress.)

Els- thank you for that keen reminder. I try to remind myself of those wise words every day- and then I try to like it. ;-)
