I am quite sure, if anyone other than my girls even still pops on here from time to time, that you must believe me to be a goner. And if not me, certainly the blog.
The blog seems to be a goner. You aren't wrong. It is just laying here, silently, comatose, waiting for life to be breathed into it once again- or waiting to finally just be put to rest. But, I stubbornly refuse to pull the proverbial plug and let it pass over in peace. Nope. It will just lay comatose for how ever many months it will take me to get my ducks in a row! And that is just how it is going to be.
And life keeps... LIFE-ing so it keeps beeping those steady, silent beeps- waiting for some life support that I don't give.
But I like to think of my blog less like a dying patient and more as a tucked-in seed, lying dormant until just the right moment to blossom.
Yes, we'll go with that image instead. It's much nicer.
And right now, it is BLOSSOM time. Because a little Addie bird told me, Pippi, that you've been checking this dormant blog for photos & updates since you've been in Alaska...
What a terrible tragedy that I am the worst blogger in the world!
So even though I have a Newunion to prepare for this Saturday... and food to make and a house to clean... (or, more likely, DUE to the fact I want to procrastinate on preparing for said party)...
Today, because I love ya, I'm bringing some life to the ol' blog.
(And for MY GIRLS who will say "What?! But WE'VE told you that WE want you to blog TOOOOOO and you never have done it for UUUUUUSSSSS... just know that I have also listened to you say "HAVE YOU CHECKED MY BLOG YET? YOU MUST NOT LOVE ME!" and so all Renaissance-blogging was put on the back-burner to visit YOUR BLOG and show YOU that I LOVE YOU!" (And all those caps are the proper emphasis I need to convey my message... am I right?!?)
(Either that or Piper is my favorite. hehehe)
(And for all the rest of you who may have given up hope on the Rebecca from Renaissance, I'd love it if you left a comment so I could see if anyone other than my children or children#2s still pop on by. Not because it will make me give up blogging if nobody does... this is too valuable a memory book... but just out of curiosity to see who I might be talking to. I ask at my own peril, knowing that curiousity has been known to kill the cat.)
And before I start, A WARNING:
I haven't been taking many 'nice camera" pictures just because a cellphone is small, light and handy. Unfortunately, I own the cheapest, most pathetic cellphone available so the photos are not great quality. Nevertheless, they are memories and snapshots of the last few months... and here they are for you to enjoy too!
PHOTO DUMP: COMMENCE!

| I like to imagine that the cows are reacting to Naomi's wig. Try it, it's fun. :-) |

| See? That is hilarious. |

| We love pizza! And now that it stays light out longer- it actually looks yummy in pictures too! So I can't help but take pictures of them. Naturally. |
![]() |
| All the babies! This party happened the FIRST time you went to Alaska, Piper. So STOP GOING TO ALASKA ALL THE TIME! Sheesh! |
![]() |
| If Naomi is fussy- take her outside. Even if it is cold. Even in the rain. It cheers her right up! |

| We went to the greenhouse to get plants and I came home with a watermelon baby! |

| Moses found a fossil rock and apparently, it was a dream come true. |
![]() |
| He was very, very, very, VERY excited about it! |
![]() |
| I caught Ineke snooping on the neighbors as they installed an above-ground pool! ha! I think she is now trying to find ways to become friends with them so she might be invited for a swim. |
Turns out, Judah is a great golfer! I think his secret is in his lip pucker.

| Books are always better read in a boat |

| Judah in his new white tank top. Are sleeveless boy shirts called tank tops? |
We had a swim day at the lake. I took pictures of Luci and Gnomi because they are both so stinkin' pretty.
And you may think: Well, I've seen everyone except Andrew in this post! Soooo.... I include this last picture as the cherry on top. Andrew is featured in sticker form on Naomi's head.

Hello Rebecca,
I do read your posts! They are lively, lovely, Faith-filled, joyous, full of crafty-yummy-goodness... I love them, however sporadic they may be.
I don't know how many readers you have... but know that you have at least one from France!
God bless you and your beautiful family!
Hélène

Hi, I have enjoyed your blog for years. Please don't stop!!
Hi Rebecca, I can't visit you in person (well, maybe very seldom), but I do enjoy seeing the updates! I understand life can take over, so we enjoy the snippets. Love you and your family!!
I have enjoyed your blog for many years. I understand about life being life. I have a harder time blogging myself as life gets busier and busier with a growing family. I do always love reading your posts when you do get the chance.
I read and I check in on a regular basis! I enjoy all the wholesome, happy family life, creativity and everything!
Jo
I've also been a reader for many years and love your posts! It's neat (bittersweet ?) to see these glimpses into other families with children I feel like I've met through blogs growing, just as quickly as ours. Life goes on. Obladi oblada. You have a beautiful family, a blessed life!
I am subscribed to your blog through Feedly, so I get all the updates. I have been reading your blog since you were pregnant with Judah. That made me pretty young when I started reading!😄
I check often to see if you’ve posted. Glad to see you’re back!
I’ve been popping in since the days of Andrew being a toddler and you only had 2 wee little ones. I don’t want to know how many years that’s been. 😭
❤
I still read. You love your family so well.
Hello, and yes. As so many have mentioned above, many of us still read your blog and check back from time to time. Please be encouraged that it is an encouragement to others, but the blog comes AFTER taking care of your family. While it is greatly appreciated by all (and updates are great btw), God put a family right in front of you to take care of, so obviously the blog is and is supposed to be secondary (or thirdly or fourthly). Blessings to you,
A in WA

Hello Terri! What a faithful friend you have been all these years! So happy you haven't given up on me!
I have always enjoyed your blog! And your pictures that you take and glimpse of your life, which can make my life seem more normal!!! And I have been reading for a while, a few of my kids are close to a couple of your kids ages. Also a fellow homeschooler, Mom to 5, with just 2 left in the school room this year. I feel like as the kids get older life gets even more full of life!
You know I am here reading, my friend! My girls read as well! I’ve read so much over the years that I feel like you are in my top list of friends, at the top! One day we will meet, Lord willing! Love and Hugs, Monica
I still come to check for updates and read! I love your updates on your family and happenings! Been around a long time! :)
Hi Rebecca, Life is so crazy full (in a wonderful, joyous busy way) that I rarely end up checking for ANYONES blog posts, but when I do YOURS is one of the few I look for :-) Bless you as you're now in both the Mother and Grandmother vocation! What a blessing from the Lord. God's peace to you. Mary
Yes I do, I like to see what you have been up to. I'm glad it made you day.
I love your posts because they are so real and show the joys of motherhood and family life. We need more of that in today's world. I've long appreciated your willingness to share your photos and musings and ponderings. No matter how infrequent your posts are they are deeply satisfying to me and I love every one. Thanks for sharing all that you do.
I love to read your blog though I am there to experience almost all of it in person. ;) You have a gift of capturing the beauty of daily life. LOVE YOU
I do check in to see what you have been up to. Glad you are busy life-ing. Lynn, Pecos, NM
as ever, a true joy to read and see all you share ~
Normal!?! Hardly! And we wouldn't want it any other way, I suspect! And I agree~ I am discovering the 'life will slow down when you are older' is a total lie! :-) Thanks for reading!!
If you are serious- how about this September/October?! Email me friend- we want to make it happen! Let's talk dates for an Ark meet-up if you think you can! We'd love it!
Thank you so much for not giving up on me! Everyone coming out of the woodwork has given me a new drive to post more often! I hope I can!
What a huge compliment that is! Thank you Mary! And I'll have you know I was just praying for you and your family the other day!

I am always looking for new posts from you Rebecca! Love your blog 💕
Hello from another friend and fellow homeschool mama who has found refreshment and encouragement here. You are someone I'd like to know in real life.
Please stay. I love reading your posts....life is full, life is busy, the seasons move along and I do love to see your updates.
Caroline- and you need some new posts to read since you have a brand spankin' new, cuter-than-cute baby to sit and nurse now! I'll try to get another one up soon! ;-) Congratulations you! I pray your recovery is going well! Praise the Lord for you and your growing family!
Thank you, Jennifer, for taking the time to say hello! That is very big compliment! If only all you ladies lived locally, imagine the encouragement we would all give and receive?! I am glad we are working together in spirit though. :-) Keep up the good and faithful work!
I have not felt this enthusiastic toward blogging than I have in years. This blog post in which people talk back TO ME is really very motivating! I hope to blog again soon! In the meantime, that you for your patient hanging-on! :-)
I check in every once in a while. Missed ya!
So thankful for your visits every now and again!
