What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Hopefuls

Tonight is pizza night!  And movie night!  And maybe a bit of popcorn night!

(I do love me some Fridays!)

I am thinking tomato garlic pizza is going to be one of the pizzas on the menu and then maybe a ham, peppers and onions pizza for the second.

This weekend is busy, busy with lots of things to do and places to go- but in the small cracks and crevices, I hope to squeeze in a bit of crocheting on this, reading my newest find from the library book barn (August sale is a bag for $2.00!), writing a few letters and maybe, just MAYBE getting a bit of mending done.  My mending pile is reaching volcanic proportions these days and any day it might BLOOOOWWWWW.

I finished putting up all the garden produce from this past week and on Monday morning I will show you some of the things I did with it all...

What are your hopefuls for the weekend?

Friday at our home is always "fun Friday", and my children insist on pizza...every Friday. I think tonight I am going to try to make a pizza pocket. Roll out pizza dough into a rectangle. Place pizza toppings in the center. cut strips on each edge, then fold over left over right (so it looks like a braid). Top with egg white and garlic/onion powder for a yummy top. mmmmmmmm. Have fun!

This weekend is my small town's annual festival so some of my time will be spent on Main Street. The forecast is for 90* and 98% humidity so I'm not sure how long I'll acutally make it on the black asphalt street. Ugh Saturday night is our weekly spaghetti supper which the whole family looks forward to. I have 2 boxes of tomatoes to get into jars and some peppers to get into the freezer. We also have wood to start splitting and stacking. It's shaping up to be a very busy weekend. :)
Hope you and your family have a blessed one.

The Andersons- we have pizza EVERY Friday night too. For me, it can at times get old. For everyone else in this household, including my husband, it would be a sin to not have pizza on Friday! I bet your pizza pockets will be de-lish!

Beth- A busy weekend, indeed! A bit of productivity, a bit of fun- sounds like a great weekend!

We will be completing all the preparations for sending my one and only child off to freshman year in college, 9 hours and 2.5 states away. She won't be back until Thanksgiving weekend! There is a lot to pack since she will be so far away and pretty much needs to take everything now and because I am the kinds of parent who buys on sale and in bulk. They even need to supply their own toilet paper since 4 students share a bathroom - no more communal ones for the entire floor. They also have a sort of kitchen - full size frig, microwave, but no stove or toaster oven (nothing that generates heat that doesn't turn off automatically), which means more stuff to take.

I am a single parent and everyone is asking what I plan to do with my time, besides working. No one believes me, but I plan to declutter, clean, and organize my home! I have other plans, too, but this is my major one.

Hold your little ones close - they grow up too.fast!

Mari- wow. Busy and (I can imagine) bittersweet weekend for you! Hope it wasn't TOO full of tears and there was some laughter and kisses and joy mixed in.

I hope that you can accomplish all your plans- but, I say, make some FUN ONES too! Might make things easier...

lots of love.

I just tackled mending/altering last week. It took two full days. Blech. If I were you, I'd let that pile blow to smithereens and blow away on the wind! Who needs rents mended, anyway?
