What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Do you like my hat?!?!

Yesterday, while perusing the local Salvation Army (yes, I am a proud thrift store shopper!) I found this hat. Now, I am not TYPICALLY a hat person. Well, not on the outside anyway. I LOVE hates and love the idea of hats and love to idealize the beautiful hats in the days of old-but Matt doesn't generally like them on me and I hardly ever look decent in them so I rarely wear them. LOOOOOOOOONNNGGG story short-I found this hat and fell in love with it. So I got it. It is collapsable but has a metal ring on the outside so the brim stays nice. I love it.

I made this picture into black and white because I hate my skin tone-it is always so red. Anyway-the hat is beige with a burgendy flower. Posted by Picasa

Being goofy but at least you see the colors of the hat! Posted by Picasa

Girl Scouts

This is one of quite a few dresses I picked up for Corynn at the thrift store yesterday. Wednesday is half price day and so it becomes, basically, a dollar store. Most dresses end up being $1.00. I can't go every week because, though I save money by buying secondhand-I can still spend A LOT of money THERE if I am not careful. This particular store is fantastic for Corynn-I never leave empty handed for her. But it is another story entirely for Andrew. I NEVER find anything for him.

I call this dress her girl scout dress. It is brown and is supposed to be more fitted and at the knees. Right now it is a loose jumper at calf-length so she will (hopefully) be able to wear it next fall too. Two for one! Posted by Picasa

Cherub child

The other day I was rushing about getting dinner on the table, unable to pick up my wailing babe. At some point, he must of stopped (though I know not when) because when I was finally able to pick him up, I found him like this. Posted by Picasa

Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig

We got back home from our weekend away nearing midnight on Sunday night. And here I am, at about the same time except on MONDAY night, updating the blog monster-no closer to settled than I was last night this time.

I was invited to a luncheon today and so off I went, ignoring the unpacking for a few more hours. After all, if we were not home, we would not NOTICE, right?!? This week is going to be a killer I think. I have some serious deadlines to meet and not really sure how I am going to be able to do it all. Thankfully, I work well under pressure.

I have lots of canning to do this week. Some more tomatillo salsa, regular salsa, and the long awaited applesauce and butters and such. Lots of unpacking, laundry, etcetera etcetera etcetera, cleaning, blah blah blah. Wednesday is Bible Study. Oh-and by WEDNESDAY I have to have made some SERIOUS progress on crocheting. I am basically starting those pesky squares from scratch-again-because the guage is wrong so I must start again with a smaller needle. So, basically, I have to start all over again and have SOMETHING accomplished on Wednesday. We'll see how that goes.

I am posting now, at o-dark thirty, so that tomorrow I can focus on what MUST be done-and not even be tempted to turn on this evil temptress box.

Boring update I know-but that is all I can force my fingers to say when my mind wants to sleep. And so-sleep tight blogdom.

One of the best parts of the Weekend...

A visit with Gram. We love her so! Posted by Picasa

Who needs Prime Rib when you have Chicken Fingers?

By the way~I kept this itty bitty ketchup bottle. I thought it was darling-and would be a perfect addition to Corynn's kitchen stuff-once empty that is... Posted by Picasa

Cutting the Rug

From 8 o'clock when the dancing started until we left after 10pm, Corynn danced. And DIDN'T stop. She can really cut the rug. I got my fair share of dancing in too-alone. Once again-Matt left me hanging. Posted by Picasa

Today's Luncheon

I was invited to attend a ladies luncheon and birthday celebration today, which was really special. Even MORE special, was the fact that the Pastor offered to take care of my children along with his own-so that the women could be child-and-care-free. The hostess did a fabulous job and had everything so beautifully set up. And the meal? It was TO DIE FOR!!! Posted by Picasa

The Ladies

What a fun time I had! Each one of these ladies is fiesty as all get out...and I loved it. No staunch Christian women here! Posted by Picasa
