What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

BuBBles

Would you believe it snowed yesterday?

I hardly would have myself, had I not seen it with my own eyes. The snow covered the car but not the ground and there isn't a speck of evidence that it was ever even there today.

Thank goodness.

I have lots of 'outdoor chores' to do today:

Lots of laundry to catch up on

Potting and planting some perennials (this weekend was the perennial exchange at church)

Okay. Well, only two-but there is lots of laundry and LOTS of plants, so these two things will keep me pretty busy!

Found these amazing bubble blowers for $1.00 and boy was that worth all the fun they have brought!

Didn't have any bubbles though, so I had to make my own.

Here is the recipe, for anyone interested.

2 T. Light Karo syrup
5 T. dishwashing liquid
1 cup of water

Mix all together and you are set.

Dutchess enjoyed them most of all, I think.

Snow in May? The bubbles look like lots more fun than that OTHER white stuff!

I heard somewhere...
"Don't put off tomorrow what you can do today."

This is something that works two ways and BuBBles should not be put off!

Give "bumpkin" a little pat from me!

Hi Rebecca,

I'm finally catching up on your blog again!

Do you get Karo syrup at the pharmacy? In the past, I have used glycerine and it usually works pretty good too.

We need more bubbles here and I've been wondering if making them would be cheaper than buying them.

Oh goody, we could go broke buying bubbles, and I keep forgetting to look for a recipe on line. I'm writing yours down now.

Are you doing a vegetable garden this year? I wondered because of the whole house thing, etc. I'm hoping to get my plants this coming week, but we'll see. Its been rather chilly here too, but thank goodness no snow. I think I would cry if it did!

Your photos are marvellous Rebecca! All of them!
And what is Karo syrup? I'd love to make my own bubble mix.

Thanks for all your input everyone! Karo syrup is actually a food ingredient used often for candy-making and is found in the baking or syrup aisle of a grocery store. Karo is actually just a namebrand for light corn syrup.

Mrs. Bonnie~ funny you should ask. No, I am not planting a vegetable garden here for reasons that will be explained in a few short weeks. , if all goes well. There are some changes in store for us to be sure... How is that for a cliff hanger?!? ;-)

Grrr. You're good at that!

That's such a great picture of Duchess.

Hurrah for changes! At least, I think so. Should I be getting excited? (Because I am...)
