What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Happy Weekend

Did anybody notice that I blogged EVERY SINGLE DAY this week?!? Because I DID!!! (A feat that has not happened since before dear Smooch came into our arms.)

If you are wondering how/why it was possible, I will tell you.

My dear Mattie left me flying solo for the week while he was off gallivanting around on a business trip, his first long abandonment of Smoochs' life.

You would think with all the responsibilities (like animal chores) I wouldn't have any extra time at all but the reality is-I can't sleep without him. (I stayed up until 1:30 last night....errr....morning) SO~I fill up my time with silly, foolish diversions like blogging and movies (I have watched so many movies this week I feel like hiding under a rock), trying in vain to have people diversions; trying not notice that the best piece of me is missing.

And that, my friends, is why I have been visiting more often. You know I love you blogland, but you are a POOR substitute for my Heart.

We have missed him so.

Good news is---he is coming home tonight! YAY.

I feel fairly certain I will be incapable of letting him go once I get my hands on him.....

But I have eight other hands in competition, so we'll see how it goes.

LOVIN the overalls :) They are my very favorite to dress my boys in ;)
I actually have some that are hand-me downs from my oldest (23 years old now) that my youngest will soon wear (he's 10 months)
I too do movie marathons when the hubby's away on work. I always joke saying the kids probably prefer when he's home too because I actually cook REAL meals - when he's gone it's too tempting to do pizza or ramen noodles ;)
I told you the other day about having no apples down here in the tropics to be able to can....the very next day a friend delivered a full case of apples they had picked in North Carolina for us. Is God good or what? :) He hears even when I ask for something like "a lot of apples" :)
Blessings! Have a wonderful weekend!

I know how you feel. I always spend more time blogging when my husband is away also. It helps to pass the lonely last evenings after the kids have gone to bed. I'm sure I'll be blogging and visting more next week when he is away at a conference. Maybe I'll store up some posts for when he comes home :)

I know exactly how you feel. John has been going on business trips WAY more often this year and I always feel like my heart is half suspended until he gets home... my sleep too!
I always stay up way too late, because I think it will make the night go faster (and movies? done that ;-)

Hi Rebecca,

(This is my first comment on your blog and I mistakenly put it on an older post)

Anyways, thank you so much for the inspiring, "encouraging pleasures and thoughts into the MANY realms of womanhood ... ".
I appreciate the list of every day graces..and the creative way you articulate them.
I also enjoy the beautiful photos .

Amy

I think I found your blog through "O'Connor Home"
