What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

a new gig

I got a gig taking pictures of quilts for a quilting magazine and the deadline is brutal.

30 quilts in two weeks.

Praising God for an open door to contributing income, and praying fervently He provides the strength and diligence to get it done. And done in a way that I am still glorifying Him in my attitudes and actions. (Read: not biting everyones' heads off.)

So if you don't hear much from me for the next two weeks, just picture me sweating in my darkened room, steaming quilts and getting them "just so", then taking one picture after another.

And then doing it all over again.

And

Again.

You exemplify the modern version of a Proverbs 31 woman. The ability to use your God given talents in a home business. You inspire me in many ways. As for doing this task, you can do it, the God who gave you the talent and this job has already given your the strength and diligence to do it. May I also say, give yourself grace. You are human, you are allowed your moments of frustration.

God bless,
Nadine

At least photography is something you enjoy AND are very good at doing! We'll wait patiently for your return. Congratulations and make sure that a little bit of the payment is used on something fun for everyone.

I think Matt's idea to spend some of that payment on needed equipment for future "gigs" is in order. Along with some chocolate. :)

Bonnie~ Matt's aunt works in advertising for all american crafts. She saw those pictures I did of my new nephew and asked if I would be willing to do some photography for the magazine. Then it was just a matter of selling myself to the editor. :-)

Tracy~ I am working for the conglomerate All American Crafts and some of my pictures will be showing up in magazines called Fabric Trends, The Quilter, and Quilting Showcase I believe.
