What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

July (In Review)

~~ A boy of many hats ~~

I have gotten into the habit of checking on my monthly progress toward accomplishing my goals for the year. But you knew that, no?

That said, I just realized that the month of June completely slipped in and out of my radar!  WHOOPSIE.

But no one seemed to mind... so let's check out July, shall we?  The truth is, I didn't record ANYTHING this month so I am working on memory here...

Family Read Aloud(s)-one is the goal:

Bridge to Teribithia
Doctor DoLittle
The Last Battle

House Project(s) of the Month-one is the goal:

Put a new ceiling in the mudroom (and tore down the nasty one)
Painted the bathroom (!!!)
Painted a sign for the mudroom
Worked on the Neverending Treehouse

Letter-writing: SIX.  Sadly, I only sent ONE to Opa.  :-(

Bought a tractor for Matt using CASH(check!  That was a one time, 2012 goal!)
Incidentally, we also bought a woodsplitter using CASH- a very necessary purchase!)

These two things led to a lesser amount toward overpayment on principle of the house and savings:

Surplus toward Mortgage: overpayed $250.00.  Every extra dollar counts!
Money toward savingsnone

Exercise, Drinking 60 ounces of water daily and reading were not recorded at all but if I had to venture a guess, I would say NILCH.  Last month I went into a funk since 5 solid months of hard work on the dieting/exercise regime did NOTHING for my weight or waistline.  It was discouraging enough to make me quit...but I will try and get back on the bandwagon (I don't know what FOR, though) this month.

Christmas Gifts Made:  again, total fail.  Last month was totally depressing so who wants to make Christmas gifts when they are depressed?  Not I.  I would much rather sulk.  But I really need to get cracking~ I am beyond BEHIND in this.

Here is hoping August is a better month for me!

Ah yes, some misses, but look at all the house/tractor/woodsplitter stuffs accomplished!

Something is definitely up if you're not losing weight with all you've been doing. That's just crazy.

Lots of gift ideas spinning through my mind, but no time to work on them just now : (

To August!

Bonnie~ I am going in on August 10th to check my thyroid levels, see if maybe I might have hypothyroidism. If that isn't it, I don't know what it is.

I'd love to hear your gift ideas (so I can steal some since I am not expecting a baby in the next week or so!) Come on girl, share!

Maybe you're expecting! ;-)

A tractor and wood splitter with CASH! Those are some major accomplishments, my dear. Very good job on goal setting!

I am totally in love with the glimpses you share of your Judah -- seriously, you and Matt have THE most gorgeous children!

The two times I lost the most weight I really had to up my water and up the intensity of my workouts (think like semi-insane & with hand weights) when I would hit a plateau. Also if you have a strict diet...actually add some more good fat back in...sometimes our bodies go into starvation mode, kwim?! Hope there isn't something healthwise! :(

I tried to read Doctor Do Little once and we didn't get rolling with it...I'll have to try again! :)

Your "NOT" getting anything done sure makes my done list look pitiful, woman. ;) You are such a hard worker. I laze around and read. :P I hear you on the Christmas gifts. I think I do ONE embroidery stitch a month or so. Gonna have to ramp that up a bit! ;)

I think you did very well in July! A tractor and a wood splitter are a big deal! And you were still able to overpay a bit on your mortgage. Oh, and you forgot one thing, a very special, wonderfully bookish letter which you sent to me! I loved reading every word and will be responding with a return letter this week. :D I'll be praying for you as you head to the doctor. I'm hoping it is nothing at all. (((Hugs)))

Focus on the things you are having success in and the things that you aren't won't seem as bad. I'm sure that me talking about my journey to get healthier doesn't help much and I'm sorry about that! I'm so happy you were able to get a tractor that was affordable! Your garden looks amazing, your party looked like lots of fun and your summer seems to be busy yet enjoyable (for the most part!) Looking forward to catching up face to face later today :)
