What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Single solitary

This is the first Christmas in SIX (count 'em..SIX) years that I have only made ONE crafty gift. I made my bil a pan of cinnamon rolls and several family members homemade peppermint schnapps~ and lots of sweets, mind you, but only ONE single solitary gift from a place other than the kitchen.
Why?

Um. Bunkin.

oh yeah-and my sewing machine bonked out on me after the move. My only Christmas gift request was to get it looked at...and it still hasn't happened YET-but VERY soon, me hopes. (and prays. and pleads. and begs. and pines after.)

So-even though I wanted SO badly to get some crafting done, I guess God thought it for my own good that I was given a hiatus. So be it.

The one gift I DID make, was fittingly for my beloved. He had mentioned wanting a beanie hat, coveting especially hard upon the slew of gorgeous winter hats the children recently received.

So, I crocheted him one. And it felt really good!

Now, he can't ever say I never made him anything! ;-)

I didn't get a lot of handmade done either. Love the crocheted hat though!

I'm having a "Slash the Stash" over on my blog this year. Join me and we can make things all year long!

On a related note, I was going to write and ask you where you got those great hats for Corynn and Andrew. I really wanted some for my girls! Finally found them at Target. Now I'm looking for one for me! Any ideas? I probably could crochet one, but I'm not that great of a crocheter with a pattern.

Blessings--

That's my girl!

I love it -- the colors are perfect!!!
It's hard to crochet a man's hat that looks
"arrr...arrr...arrrr -- MANLY", but you managed it. I am duly impressed.

Blessings on you and yours in this new year.

Those colors are gorgeous! (In a overtly masculine way, of course...)

You did a fantastic job! It's the ninth day of Christmas, and I still haven't started sewing any gifts. Maybe you could crochet my children a few little somethings by Wednesday? :)

Hi, I like the hat and the colors are especially nice. I think I may have to whip one up for my son now! Thanks so much for stopping by today.
