What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Diversions

I told ya so. I wrote on Foto Friday's post that inevitably, after a week or Mr. Drear visiting, as soon as I posted my less-then-vibrant sky photos, the sky would go and turn all pretty on me.

I think it took an hour after publishing that post. har har har

Well, I thought it was high time we enjoyed that long-lost blue, so we headed to a local greenhouse farm. Spring is most definitely in the air, making it a perfect time to go!

It is kidding time for the goats. Awwww.

They are teeny tiny but they still know what to do when they feel an itch!

Andrew said the other day "I can't wait til we have a REAL farm, with a sucklin pig...and MUNKin cows...and sheep, NOT goats but sheep...and a hoess, and...."

They have an aunt with a goat who butts them all the time. Guess his mind is made up about that one.

This little "kid" is fearless when it comes to animals. She loves them and isn't the least bit afraid to get up close and personal. I love that about her.

She thought it was great fun to have the goats eat right from her hand. That is a proud smile she wears.

Of course, these bad boys (and girls) are a bit more intimidating.

Andrew has always been a bit more cautious around animals at first. He likes to kick the dirt with 'em a bit first, before making any real "moves".

But, when he and the cow have gotten on proper terms, he doesn't mind a little physical interaction. I'll tell you-when you have almost four feet of horn stretching out in front of you with only a little bitty wire separating you, it can be intimidating. Even for me.

I *STILL* don't know how they got themselves out of that feeder. Or how they got their heads IN, for that matter.

Turkeys are so ugly beautiful it is amazing. How an animal can be both at the same time, I don't understand. But for turkeys, it is true.

Meanwhile, Corynn, who has her heart SET on getting a horse (when she's TWELVE, she tells everyone...as if 12 years old comes next week) spent much of her time oogling the miniature ponies.

I know, I know. ANOTHER peacock photo. I love them and can't stop myself. It's an addiction.

The friendliest of all the animals was this donkey. The goats were friendly because they wanted to be fed. The ponies, too, were hungry. The cows were curious. The turkey and peacock came close more as a threat than hospitality. This donkey though, was just happy to be around the baby. (Much to my baby's delight.) She would pat, scrape and itch the donkey's ear and fur and that sweet thing would just stand there. For a good ten minutes it did.

Well Biscuit s looking over my shoulder and exclaimed
"Just like we have cows and sheeps and hoses!"
We do? Somehow I missed that...

7 Brides is my MOST favorite movie, I've seen it hundreds of times

These pictures were a pleasant diversion for my little grumpa-potomus. She gets very excited over animals, and I am able to type this because she is staring at the donkey right now.

I went green housing yesterday (leaving the littles at my parents as its POURING), and yes, despite my frozen fingers (did I mention its cold too?) I thouroghly enjoyed myself, though this green house is nowhere is big and fancy as the one you were at. Plants were bought, and gardens/planters/baskets are being dreamed of.
Lovely, fun, *diverting* posts!
Balm for this tired Mama.

I loved the little thing about Corynn that she's going to get a horse when she's 12. A couple years ago I found a notebook in which I had written, "I love horses. I want a horse. Daddy promised I could get a horse when I was 10. I am 7 now."
Well, here I am 15 and no horse in sight. :-D Guess somehow someone forgot about that promise... hehe :)
