What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Back to the Grindstone and all that.

Things I have been up to lately...

1)  Oh WAIT.

I don't HAVE to make lists anymore!  Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.  Sweet relief!

As fun as they were---I am happy to have a list break.  Bet you are too.  Am I right or am I right?

Thank you for all my birthday wishes!  You all really made my day!

Turns out, 30 ain't so bad.  Truth is, I'd happily turn 30 ANY day if it meant getting a love note.    (Though the skunk one really stumped me pretty good-until Matt said it was a FIGURATIVE skunk, not a literal one.  Doi, Rebecca)

Matt took off on Friday of last week AND on Monday and Tuesday!!! making a superbly wonderful week that felt very much like it was mine, my own little birthday week.

Even though much of that "vacation" time was spent doing very large jobs around the place (more on those later...) it was sweetened with togetherness and speckled with frivolty.

I sat on a blanket and painted.

I read.

We went on walks and wrestled in the yard and had wheelbarrel races.

I had my first greenhouse trip of the year, a balm for my summer-loving soul.

We snuggled on the couch and watched movies.

We had strawberry daiquiris at home.

I thought very little about dinners.

We had played in dirt.

We hung hammocks.

Each night we came into the house all covered in dirt and hot and exhausted and very very content.

It was grand.

I just realized how listy this post actually is.  Oops.
I guess old habits die hard....

I actually liked your lists since I'm more of a list person myself! :-) I even made one of my own today. I'm glad you had a wonderful birthday week!

A list, but not a list. I like list posts though, they sum up everything all nice and tidy.

And I'm a big dork who thought MONDAY was the 15th, and hence the day early birthday bit. I should learn to look at the calender more often.
