THESE SHOTS ARE ALL SO GREAT!!! You did these? How did you set up your own studio?? Oh I want LOTS of details! I need to go an repent for my envyness now. ;^)
I like all of these better than any "professional" photos I've seen of you and Corynn, and I like the casual elegance of this one. Now you've just got to get Matt in there among the rose petals with you! :)
And, not that it need be said, but as always, you look great!
P~ I have a pretty large window in our living room that has white fabric draped all the way down for curtains. I just undraped the curtains and hung them flat with a few clothspins (loosely so drapes formed going down). Then I put our pillows on the floor and put a white tablecloth over that. I had some rose petals so I sprinkled them all over the place. I borrowed my sisters' tripod (this was before I was given one!) and put it at the lowest setting (although I have done 'photoshoots' like these before just propping my camera on tables and books and stuff. My camera has a 10 second timer so the trick is to get it focused (on Corynn standing where I would be) then to push the button and run to the spot in time to get a good shot. On a previous photoshoot, I didn't use the flash and I used black and white film, so my body was actually sillohette (HOW do you SPELL THAT?!?!) which worked out well for the purpose of THOSE shots. This time I WANTED detail so I was afraid to NOT use the flash. So, I used the flash, which gave a more 'flat' look to the pictures. The second one to the last didn't have flash. Turns out, I like that one best because of the shadowing. I guess I will know for next time...sometimes you DO need it, sometimes you DON'T! (I am GUESSING it was because with the black and white, the camera was further away so reflected more background and darkened the subject-but with these shots, the camera was pretty close and so features were more visible. Not quite sure on that though....)Abby~I kept the 'studio' (meaning sheets and furniture moved) up all day so that we could take a few as a family...but Matt came home so late and we had to be somewhere that it never happened. I was sorely disappointed. I wanted to take a few of the 'family' and a few of Matt behind me with his hands on my belly. Oh well. Maybe before Peanut is born I will muster up some more creative energy. Then I can document how HUGE my belly will get in the last days...speaking of which, I think you are about due for a belly shot too! ;-)
One more thing....Corynn got a beanbag for Christmas and while I was taking these shots, I thought how perfect it would be to cover the beanbag and put Peanut on that with Corynn behind it when (s)he is born. So...be on the lookout for that in a few months.....
