What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Impromptu

Yesterday afternoon, after chores and school and housework was done (and I REALLY didn't want to make supper) I decided it was the perfect day to have an impromptu celebration of first day of homeschool and soon-to-be last days of warm weather...........in the form of a park picnic dinner.

With (brace yourselves!) BOUGHT pizza!!! (Friday night pizza nights are homemade and while they taste great they are....still made by me.) Also: Watermelon. Squash with dip. And jellyjars full of iced tea.

Upon completion of the library summer reading program the children were awarded free icecream cones from the local icecream joint so after the picnic, we hiked there and made good use of them.

YUM.

First (and last) ice cream cones of the season.

Walking back the park, Andrew bumped into Corynn smearing his icecream cone all over her back. But he made good of it and cleaned it up~

I've raised my children well. ;-)

Yes, I do sit around all day waiting for you to post, just so I can be the first to comment. Ok not really, but it sure seems that way...

If Bonnie's always the first, you can count on me to be "bringing up the rear"! What a helpful little brother ;D Your children are going to have the best pictures in all the world when they grow old and need to reminisce.

Also, wanted to let you know I received your package. You are so sweet!! I need to get my act together and get a letter written. (I have been saying that for three weeks now -- NOT GOOD!)
