What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Too much FuN

Summer passed too quickly this year. My camera and I could keep up (huffing and puffing), but this blog couldn't.

A few days before Autumn officially begins *groan* I am taking the time to get these last few random summer pictures posted.

My toes are already feeling chilled walking around barefoot all day, so it's nice to remember that hot, sweaty day on the boat (#95) and the bony, little shoulder blades of a certain Little Miss (#96).

~Old Farm Days~

(#97) A baby Alpaca being brought to us for a closer look
(#98) free activites for the public to enjoy that changes ordinary days into extraordinary

(#99) Children who are gentle and kind to animals, even as other children poke eyes with straw and scream and bully.

and the new Saloon girl....

~An afternoon on Grandpa's Boat~

(#100) a cyclops, boring a hole through me

(#101) a pair of sunglasses on the side of the highway the very day I lost mine (and on the brightest day on earth). So what if they had a huge scratch through the center and looked hideous? They worked for that day.

(#102) All of his 2000 parts

It was Andrew's first boating experience (and Adele's too). The last time I was on a boat, Corynn was Adele's age.

Methinks the boy liked it! (#103)

Adele on the hand, hated that dumb lifejacket. She bellyached about it until I finally just laid her on the floor of the boat and she just felt the vibrations on a cushy yellow floatybed. Then she loved it.

(#104) His scrunched up squint

~ A Parade ~

(#105) An avenue of red

(#106) candy being flung at you

(#107) a camera nice enough that when you fling yourself in the middle of a parade in order to get a frontal view of the bagpipes, people actually think you might be a REAL photographer instead of the horrible fraud you are.

(#108) Sweet sounds

~Old Home Days~

( #109) Pony rides! Even better, FREE pony rides!!!!

All the children just ADORED the horses and ponies and would have been happy to stay there forever.

(oh man~if only he had cowboy boots!) Our Cowboy Andy was in his element. (#110)

Truth is, I did too. I even got to ride myself (under the guise of a good mother, that is). Truth is, I would have rode the pony around all by myself even if I didn't have a good excuse. (#111)

Adele' had me cracking UP though because she was squealing and laughing so stinkin' hard when we the horse was walking.

There is nothing better than the utter delight of a child. (#112)

When we stopped, so did she. But I think I still see a twinkle in her eye!

~ At the Park with Auntie Beth~

(#113) Ants on a log. The cute kind.

(#114) Squeezing on ONE more.

Did you know seagulls like Doritos? I learned that this summer...

Had them eating out of my hands. (literally) (#115)

I wonder if that makes me some sort of superhero in my childrens' eyes???

For warm summer sun, bare toes and avoiding the coat closet. (#116, 117,118)

A bit of summer remembrances, to give thanks for this day~ as the leaves casually drop in and nosetips turn cold. Gifts numbered 95-118.

holy experience

OK, they saloon girl one cracked me up!
And how brave you are on the boat. I HATE boats. I don't really know why.
The last time I was out on one, B. and I were dating, and we loaded up my brothers rowboat and brought it here. If mosquitos and pond scum/weeds are romantic, then we had a grand time. Even if my knuckles were white.

Thank you so very much for sharing the last bits of your summer with us. We woke up to a frosty 33 this morning which promptly dropped to 28. But its warming up now. Our trees are a gorgeous golden yellow but the leaves have dropped so quickly that the lawn is golden as well... :) It reminds of the streets of gold mentioned in Revelation! What a wonderful day that will be! But in the meantime I plan on enjoying the ones I have here!!
