What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Comforting Ankles

Adele' has taken to implementing some alternate measures when a time arises where I can't pick her up easily. Like when I am doing dishes or kneading dough, for example.

She fusses for a minute to make sure I won't give in, the`when it is perfectly clear I have no intentions of picking her up-she shimmies herself between my legs and lays there sucking her fingers. She has even fallen asleep that way once or twice.

Unfortunately, as endearing as it is, I have never been able to take a picture of it because running and grabbing my camera would upset the whole applecart. The other day though, Matt was in the next room.

I am enamored with the girl, even if I *DO* have dishes to do.

How sweet! And I'm so glad Matt was able to get a picture! I wish Esther would be as easily pacified. I usually end up putting a chair beside the sink or the counter while I'm working. She loves to see what I'm doing.

Cute cute! Muffin is usually comforted by snapping the elastic strap on my mary-jane tennis shoes. Adele's way looks much less painful!

That is so sweet. Thumb-suckers (or in Miss Adele's case, finger-suckers) are the easiest of babies. They know how to content themselves.

I'm so glad that Matt got a picture of this. It is one of those things that you will want to tell her about when she is older, and now you'll have a picture to show her as well.
