What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Weekending

I don't know where this past week went really. I'd like to think I accomplished a lot, but I can't really name anything in particular except feed the children. do the dishes. change diapers. do laundry. homeschool. change clothes. That sort of thing.

Actually, "that sort of thing" makes a nice long list (and fills my days up very well) if I actually list it out-but that sort of list is not a very exciting one to make.

I do know every single room in this house seems to have a post-hurricane-esque feel to it. Which means, this weekend, however NOT fun it sounds, is going to be filled with cleaning and tidying-and especially-SORTING.

I don't like keeping things around just to make messes and post-holiday FLUFF always drives me crazy right around now. If it has been on the floor all week then I have a right (and daresay, RESPONSIBILITY??!?!) to toss it or set it aside for a yard sale.

I function SO much better in a tidy house.

I very much hope to squeeze in a few (winning) games of checkers, a couple quilled letters, unearthing my sewing machine, a walk or two and THE perfect Friday night: a bowl of popcorn and slightly melty ice cream after the children go to bed and the Mr. and I are snuggling on the couch watching a movie.

Any plans for your weekend?

A bridal shower for my SIL, a Christmas (in February...still scratching my head over this one!) party for hubby's volunteer fire fighter station, and Noah's birthday party on Sunday. Whew. :) Hubby goes back to work on Monday also. I've been sooooo spoiled with him home! :)

Oh, you would be proud of me. ;) I made a list of all the handmade that I would like to do for Christmas 2012! It is VERY ambitious. You are my inspiration...if I go crazy can I blame you? ;) Heehee. Anyway...can't wait to share some of the projects hopefully on the old blog to motivate me! :)

Have a wonderful and squeaky clean, organized, & tidy weekend, my friend! :)

Fist off- congratulations Bobbi!!!!!
I *had* to hijack to say that, as any and all babies must be celebrated.

Second, I think our weekends are identical, except no popcorn (it ALWAYS gets stuck in my teeth and hurts) and I'll be curling up with B. Oh, and I'll be feeding my sorbet obsession. I'd like to say I made t, but I didn't.

Here's to the great dig out and pack-up. (clink glasses)

It will be a busy crafting day here at the Terry homestead! John is working on a secret knitting project for his Papa. Noah is making a pillow. Isaiah wants me to teach him how to knit. And I'm planning to finish the hat I'm knitting for Scott!

Of course, we'll be heading to worship service tomorrow, too.

Have a wonderfully blessed weekend! :)

Bobbi!!!! So many congratulations sent your way! And do send me a picture...pretty pretty please. Bet he is as cute as his name.....

Amy~ busy busy gal for being postpartum. Did you miss the memo to 'REST'?!?!? hmmmmmmm? And good for you about the gift list! I hope you share some progress reports-they might motivate me too! I think this months homemade gift is crochet-edged pillowcases but I am not certain. I have been wanting to do a bit of embroidery for...well, ever.

Bonnie~ popcorn bothers my stomach so I try to avoid it most of the time but sometimes I am not strong enough. I pay later but enjoy it while it lasts. Especially the peanut butter popcorn I make. yum-o. Hope you have a productive weekend!

Leah T~ what a fun weekend you will be having! Love to see the secret project of Johns! Is it perhaps Scotts birthday one of these days?!

Yes, John's secret project is a belated gift for Scott. It was supposed to be for Christmas and then for his birthday (in January) but we rarely make it to town, let alone the craft store, so he's making it now in anticipation of next Christmas. :)
