What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Rain, Rain

Papa took the kids on a walk, while I decorated with crepe paper and balloons-and got the food all ready.

Ten minutes later, it began to drizzle.

A few minutes after that, it began to pour.

We were under cover, but the wind blew the droplets in our faces and eventually overwhelmed us. The crepe paper was soon soggy and the balloons had been whipped away by the wind.

We ate, quickly, through chattering teeth then loaded BACK up the cake, the presents and the food to resume the party someplace dry.

It was a nice thought, anyway.
