What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

FACT

FACT: puzzles with teeny little pieces are infinitely less fun when chubby hands of destruction are nearby.

FACT: everything looks better in glass.

Fact: ladders are NOT good sleds.

FACT: Dishes and me? We don't get along. And yet, interestingly, we hang out together an awful lot.

FACT: I promised myself I wouldn't clutter the front of the fridge. Not doing so well on that. (Lists, anyone?!)

FACT: I don't feel well. Again. This is a perpetual state I have been in since Christmas. One easy way you can tell is by the oranges, something I don't often splurge on unless we are sick.

FACT: I put away the Christmas decorations and the house looked so gloomy and bare, I unpacked a string of lights for the armoire. What can I say? I need sparkle in my life.

FACT:
Having boys changes everything.

I'll drink to all that and add my own: Fact: I have our new 12 passenger van stuck in the driveway and I'm not sure I can get it out. But I'm going to try.

Andrew cracks me up.

I was looking at the last picture and thought, "Awww, how sweet." Then I looked closer at the actual drawing! ROFLOL!!!!! Gotta love those boys!

Hope you feel better soon.

Fact# 2: Van successfully unstuck.

Hi, me again, just to tell you I am so nosy I enlarged your lists and read them.
And, ahem, not feeling well????? Again???? (sickness has been here there and everywhere this time 'round)
I've decided oranges are a worthy splurge, I don't buy snack foods, so I can justify the price. I like the cuties, in fact, I think I'll go eat one now, as soon as I demand to know what is in the jar, top row, far left, it looks like odds and ends of chips and dried vegetables?

a new van, eh?!? Wa-hoo! Fill that baby up! ;-) But first, unstick it!

You know, I almost wondered if you would read those to-do lists. Now you know how pathetic I am at completing things. ugh.

Sickies? Not the sort that get you excited. THAT's for sure.

And in the jar is precisely what you guessed. Dried veggie chips. (I didn't make them.) I love the beets and greenbeans, especially. Inceidentally, you don't see many of them anymore. ;-)

Fact: Sometimes I enjoy reading Bonnie & Rebecca's comments to each other almost as much as the original post! ;) Heehee! You two are entertaining! :-)

I have had ever so many poop, blood, guts, & bogger drawings in my life. Boys ARE wonderful! ;)

I only looked at your son's face, and assumed the drawing was a school report--I didn't even look at it. Then I read all of the comments. HA-HA, I remember those days with little boys, too.

yes,
glass does make everything better.
I had to laugh at that one b/c as i was cleaning the bathroom today{my least fav job} i noticed several things I had concocted sitting in tupperware containers. i say to myself.
self: put those in a glass jar to make the bathroom look pretty.
and so,
I have ground oats, and my sugar scrub, soap and toothpaste in jars.
all pretty sitting in a mason jar.

dern,
now I think i'll go take a picture of it and write a blog post.

hmmm. if I could add a picture to the comment box, i'd have a blog post.

....
love your blog.
makes me smile when I visit you:)

happy new year!!!

It's been far too long since I came to visit (your blog). I've been enjoying every minute of catching up! :D You're always so inspiring and encouraging. I hope you start feeling better soon. I need to sit down and finish my list of goals for this year. I was wondering if you plan to share a reading list for this year. I have a few books on mine but would love some more ideas!

Hi Rebecca,

I am a lurker here, but you prob'ly know me from Abby Owen's blog, and I just totally randomly wanted to tell you that I think you need to go to the library and inter-library loan "The Ultimate Wreath Book" by Ellen Spector Platt, because I bet you will get a good 45 minutes of enjoyment just looking through it and some brilliant ideas to last you year round on top of that.

Also, I like run-on sentences.

:)

I do have to agree with the above comments. I do enjoy visiting your blog as well. It is much like being invited in to your living room for some herbal tea and crocheting/knitting time while we talk, laugh and share. What a treat!

And, yes, boys are wonderful! ;) Mine don't draw it, they talk it. Invariably, our family dinner conversation goes that direction at times. :P I remind them that it isn't good dinner conversation. Most of the time it works, other times...well...*sigh* Boys are wonderful! :D

Fact: I love your blog. And you! You should visit me to see who has arrived at my house. Clear from the north of you!

I've just caught up on your last five or six posts.
All those lists! All those pictures! How do you do it dear? I mean not only all the stuff ON the lists but the blogging of it all, and so beautifully too? Thanks for the lovely entertainment it gave me on this weary evening. Perfect. It was quite a nice time. :)

Leah T.~ great idea. I stopped doing that last year and missed it. I'll get that back up soon.

Titi~ well, HI! I know of you because I admire your handiwork all the time with things you have made for the Owenseses. ;-) Socks, especially. I really REALLY want to knit my own socks but so far, the skill has eluded me. Instead, I just covet handmade ones...like the ones you made Abby. Thanks for the suggestion~ I will see if I can nab it through interlibrary loan!

Thanks for your compliments. Sock knitting is easy! Too bad we live so far away, or I would teach you. The only person I have failed to teach is, sadly, Abby. Not because knitting is hard, but because I am dreadfully confused by left-handedness.
