What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

On the couch

Continuing on with my out-dated photos blog roll that I am on... I give you two pictures from months ago.

Me on the couch while very very sick with sinus infection and migraine and fevers and my little Judahbear climbed up on me just to be close and ended up falling asleep.  And with that, he made me feel just the tiniest bit better without even trying.

And Miss Addie Mae snuggling with a Birthday Papa.  She knows she has got him, doesn't she?

PS.  I have always been irritated by the word verification, and never moreso than lately when it is so hard to read and finnicky.  Then I was told others were having problems with it too (Thanks Lisa!) SO, I said "Good riddance with ya!" and turned it off.  Until I get bombarded with SPAM and I need to figure out a new alternative- anyone can comment and do so EASILY.  ;-)

Hooray! I'd rather you use comment moderation, or not allow anonymous comments, which I believe is how most spam gets through) than have the word verification. I have to say, it kept me from commenting sometimes.

Yeah! Someone else who uses rolls of toilet paper instead of boxes of tissue for runny noses! It seems we went through a whole case a month ago when sickness hit the whole family here.

How do you turn off word verification? It is driving me nuts!

So glad you're not sick...love the snuggle pictures. I can't believe how pristine your couches are. We bought a new one last year...and it's just the two of us and looks ten years old. I especially love the lacey sunflowers in the print. The cow cake is awesome. You have such a decorating flair, whether it's your home or a cake... you are an inspiration.

God bless you,

Janet (yes, the nosey meal plan lady)

Oh NICE! I couldn't comment on several things because of the silly verification. Pretty sure I was reading them correctly, too.

You take beautiful pictures.

Thank you!!! I never got it right the first time.

And I love the Judah picture on your back. So precious. I bet it did make you feel a dab better. But then a smile always does, and I bet it made you smile!

Debbie-go to your blogger and click on your blog name. It will take you to a page with a left hand margin that has SETTINGS as a very bottom option. Click on that and then to the POSTS and COMMENTS option. There will be all sorts of options like who can comment and how and you can turn on or off the comment moderation or chose to show or not show word verification. Don't forget to save your settings when you are done!

Janet~ what is so funny about your comment is that we got these couches almost 9 years ago and paid $100.00 for both of them out of a newspaper ad. So-they are pretty old and run down too. Now-one even has a hole in the seat from little boys flying off the arms and onto the pillowless (for playing) base.

I really need new couches. OH-do I.

That second picture reminds me of so many photos I have of my three girls over the years curled up on their daddy just like that. There is something so marvelous about a father and daughter secure together like that, especially now days when it is becoming more and more rare, sadly so. Not so with us though! By the grace of God, his Word does not return void and creates real love and security and peace for us in our relationships, and he renews us in his Sacraments, daily, weekly, yearly, and generationally. He causes us to be light and salt in this ever more dark and flavorless world.

(Oh, I hate sinus infections! they can knock you out something awful. Hope you are feeling better now. :)

Thank you so much Rebecca for disabling the verification thing!
I have tried so many times to tell you how much I love your blog, but the word verification thing was too much! love the birthday cake!

Thanks for turning off the verification form. I really like how peaceful Matt looks while holding his girl. They are lucky to have each other!

Glad you are feeling better. Sinus gunk is no fun.

So glad you mentioned this--I have several times tried to post and was certain I was reading correctly, but word verification repeatedly said I was incorrect. I truly thought it was some malfunction with me. :) Love the pics--I also find it one of the best things ever when babes fall asleep that way--heart-melting.

Glad the sickness is old news--sinuses can be the worst.
