What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Twice As Nice

It's been two years since I sent out the announcements that our 'Peanut' arrived with safety into the world, yet, it doesn't feel like it has been years. Where did the time go?!?

He grows, he flourishes and with each day, we fall more in love with him as he learns to express himself better and better and reveals more of his personality.

We see his personality shining forth with each new day and each glimpse is a gift. He is strong but doesn't take foolish chances. He does everything with great caution and won't even attempt something if it may mean getting hurt.

He is ever conscious where people are and hardly ever goes to play on his own. He loves being with his sister, life just wouldn't be the same for him if he had no one to share it with.

He truly is innately boy. He is never without some truck, car, or airplane in his hands. He carries them from room to room. He brings to the table for every meal. He runs to get one before we head to the car. He loves wheels and all manner of transportation that houses them. AND~He knows how to make all the sound effects too.

He LOVES to laugh and more so, to make people laugh. He has been known to make funny faces at the table, just to get some erupted giggles. He hasn't ever talked much, but slowly and steadily, he is learning words. Secretly, I adore his baby pronunciations and I don't always correct him because I know, soon enough, he won't be saying it that way and I will miss it when it is forever gone.

He loves to be loved and he loves to love. I think he knows that he is growing up, I think he senses it and still, a little part of him wants to stay a baby. Sometimes, he'll crawl in my lap just like a newborn babe and just lay there making sighs.

He wakes up promptly every morning and the first words out of his mouth are "Papa? Wk? COOOOoow?" And I say, "Yes Panda. Papa is working at the farm, with the cows." and then-the day can begin.

Yesterday, I woke up in excitement, woke the kids up with my own version of the birthday song, and began preparing a special birthday surprise. By the afternoon I was icing the cake and I was elbow deep in icing when I got a call, and I learned that yesterday was April 1st-not 2nd!!! Yikes! April FOol's on me!

SO, after all that preparation~we had Andrew's birthday yesterday and I didn't even mention to the children that their Mama is so stupid she can't keep her days straight anymore and we celebrated on the wrong day! They don't know that and, hopefully, won't for a LONG time. :-)

I always told myself, "He won't stay this little forever so enjoy it while you can!" and I always tried my very best to take nothing for granted. And yet, time HAS passed and he ISN'T this little anymore and I think~surely, you could have enjoyed it more! I can hardly remember him being so very small...

Today is a great day for birthdays! My hubby turns OLD...34! One of my childcare kiddos also turns 2, and a man who writes a blog I read is also having a birthday. I always tease my hubby that he's just a bit late to be an April Fool! :o) Happy Birthday Andrew!!!

Blessings-Andie

I LOVE these train pictures with Andrew!

Such a great post.
It makes me wish we lived close to train tracks again. (We still kind of do, but it runs next to the river, and we don't see the trains as often.)
