What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Foto Friday: YELLOW

Last week we challenged ourselves to capture YELLOW.

I hated yellow growing up, but in the last few years I am afraid I might have become obsessed. No idea what spurred the change.

There is something incredibly cheerful and soul-brightening about it. It can ACTUALLY make me happy.

Our pretty daffodils were scooped up by little hands and put into vases, lots of vases, two weeks ago week, leaving them nearly dead right when I needed them. Rats.

Instead I went with the forsythia bushes in our yard. Forsythia boughs make fabulous crowns, by the way.

and because all of these shots have the "serious" face of Corynn, I throw this last one in for good measure....

And finally~ two "Farm Chicks"

Here is some more YELLOW:

In order to participate in these Foto Friday challenges, you must take a photo (or several) pertaining to the challenge WITHIN the challenge week and post it/them to your blog. When you do, please link back to this blog {you may use the button if you like} so that perhaps we can get lots of participants! (Because, you know, the more the merrier!) Then simply link to your Foto Friday post with Mr. McLinky here so that we all can visit you and compare notes...

For those of you new to this blog (or to Foto Friday's), each Friday we get a new photo challenge to work on for the week and we post our photos the next Friday and link back up here. Whatever your skill level, the goal is to get behind your camera and to begin, as you practice, to view subjects in a different light. To extend yourself and your concepts and ideas. To create ART instead of just snapping a picture. And to do it all while having FUN.

This week's challenge is..... RED

I've been having so much trouble with these colors! Yellow, especially. Sure, there is yellow EVERYWHERE, but nothing screamed ART to me. Red will be easier, I think.

I like your "farm chicks". Very cute!

Your girlies are just too darn cute! I am also a big fan of yellow, it just seems to be the color of happiness...
One of these days I will have to learn to use the camera my husband purchased for me, and then I will have to praticipate in Foto Friday. Unfortunately, due to my lack of children it would end up being tons of photos of my cats, ha ha!
Have a great weekend. :)

Wow those were fantastic! I love the third one where she is holding the branches with the bit of yellow in the background but mt fav was the photo with the rounded edges and the yellow glow background. Your pictures are so bright they literally make my eyes grow wide. Your daughter is exquisite and so sweet to be your model! oh and I love the chicks pic, too.

Wow! The crown is amazing. Picture number three is by far my favorite. The composition and lighting are just incredible! Photo number 5 is my second favorite. Love the softness of the photo. It compliments her expression so nicely.

WOWZERS! My fav is the 4th one down. Where you have the background all overexposed. BEAUTIFUL! I wish I could figure out how to do that! :D

Wow! These pictures of yours were wonderful. I love the composition of number 3. With a lot of gray color then the punch of yellow really draws ones eyes to the subject. Number 5 is awesome as well. The colors are great and the expression is so artistic. The last photo, though a different feel than the others is so darling. such a cute little baby...ahhhh!

I love them all! Yellow is one of my most favorite colors, but I look awful wearing it :0(
Happy, happy color.
I thought of doing dandelion chains, BUT. Screaming bloody-murder-2-hours-at-a-time Muffin (for no obvious reason. holding her wasn't helping) cramped pretty much the whole week, so nothing exciting picture wise.

Those are fabulous pictures. Very creative and fun.

I was so hoping that red would have been today's challenge 'cause there were some amazing reds at the Grand Canyon. Oh well, I'll just have to find some different inspiration. **grin**

Hey Heather-do still share those reds!

I love the 4th picture down. What a beautiful photo! The two chicks are adorable too.

By the way, you asked if I raise bees. I do not. I just like bumblebees and I love honey!

I Loved your pictures with forsythia and the kids. Nothing screams spring like yellow forsythia. It was my mom's favorite so I always love it when I see it. Clever to make a wreath out of it...
