What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Concord

I have become known as "The Canner" in church, or known FOR canning. Often, I give my canned goods as gifts to people in church, bring them to potlucks, or dole them out to those who might need a boost. Naturally, people have become accustom to it-and often will give me the heads up when they know of canning jars needing good homes. I have probably doubled my jar count since moving here, for that very reason!

Several months ago, while in church, I was sharing with a friend my longing for access to free grapes, come grape season. She suggested I put an ad for "WANTED: GRAPES" in the paper, but I never did do it. I was lazy and pessimistic and allowed that pessimism to force me to go without.

This week, that same friend called and told me of her friend who was looking to rid their vines of access grapes. Like 200 POUNDS access grapes! She also told me that she had ANOTHER friend, who was looking to get rid of canning jars. You can just imagine how ECSTATIC I was!!! Both friends, though seperate, lived about 45-50 minutes away but I was able to work it out that I hit both stops at once.

Yesterday.

Tell me...is that not a beautiful sight? I have never in my life seen a real grape vine. (I can't believe I am admitting that...)

The jovial man thought highly of Corynn and helped her fill her basket several times. I couldn't believe how friendly and generous they were. I truly felt like I could have stayed there all day just visiting with them!

After that, we picked up the canning jars-FIVE paper bags full of them to be precise. Good thing too, because now I have jars to PUT the grapes in. We picked probably 50 pounds worth. That will be a lot of juice! Maybe, I won't have to buy ANY juice this coming year.

Wouldn't THAT be a wonderful thing?!?
