What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

Dollhouse Project: Mission Accomplished

Time for the unveiling! There are still a few things I would like to do, someday. Like paint the OUTSIDE of it! And I look forward to working WITH Corynn to add to the furnishings and such~that will be GREAT fun. But overall, it is in working order and looking great. Thanks to all who contributed ideas, suggestions, tips and more. I really value your input and enthusiasm!

Above all else, this dollhouse is filling up many hours with beaming smiles. There is nothing better than that

The bottom shelf will eventually hold baskets for the 'extra stuff'. Like, say, the CHRISTMAS tree! ;-) Right now, it is working well as a garage. hehe

I made those cute little banner things-each floor had one. It said...

Merry Christmas Darling!

I think it was.

Ta-da! A whole new world has opened up!

Wow, that is amazing! You and Matt should be sooooo proud. You may not realize it, but you've created a family heirloom. (Imagine your grandchildren playing with it, LOL!)
I'm glad you did get my package. I thought you might use some of that for the dollhouse, you're so clever!
Wow...I didn't realize until I saw the full view how very tiny the banners are!
Now, confession time. Thanks for the nice comment on my Christmas dress. However, I am NOT a speedy seamstress, LOL! I can't tell you how many things hang 'forever' in my closet. That green blouse I keep talking about? I probably started it six months ago. This dress, though, was so easy it went together quickly. I guess I can finish a job when I set my mind to it, LOL!
I'm a little large on top, too. (44never-mind-what letter is my size, on a 5'2" frame. I also have BIG feet.) So I have to work on making things fit.
Please don't give up on sewing. Look for 'Easy to Sew' type patterns. T-shirts are easy--no zippers or buttons. Just be sure to preshink any fabric you use!
And the apron? How about adding an inch-wide border around the bib part in a contrasting fabric? Or some wide eyelet ruffle?
Happy New Year to you and yours!

What a great doll house! It's every little girl's dream house. I had to laugh, because we have lots of dogs in our doll house, too. My daughter just loves them.

Happy Holidays,
Lynn

Oh, how wonderful! I have wanted a doll house for years -- but I have all boys. Maybe the Lord will bless me with a granddaughter some day to share one with. I love the banner you made!

I am putting my comment here, for convenience sake. I have just read through a number of your posts and find myself getting to know you. What a blessing you are.

Marvelous!!!!! Mommy and Daddy are to be applauded. But all the applause you need, you have gotten from your little girl. And will continue to get... for a long, long time, from watching her joy.

Just wonderful!!!!! Takes me back in time. :-)

Wow Rebecca, your doll house is incredible! You did a great job! You put so much love in every single detail! I especially adore the little banner things (it reminds me that making a banner is on my to-do list since long)!

Very VERY well done, thank you so much for sharing!

Best wishes and Happy New Year from Germany,
Anita

Where do I begin exclaiming over both of your wonderful jobs? (Does that phrase sound right. Hmm o well)
I LOVE red and white kitchens (probably from reading Trixie Belden), and you really must show us some pictures after(if) you paint the outside. Oh, and of things you and Corynn make. (As if I need to ask you to take pictures chuckle chuckle)
