What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth,
and its people are like grasshoppers.
He stretches out the heavens like a canopy,
and spreads them out like a tent to live in.

Isaiah 40:22

I am a save a lot mama as well. I found out several years back when we moved to the house that we are in now. That Walmart just wasn't in my budget, dont' get me wrong I love walmart to. But I found that I can get allmost everything I buy at walmart at save a lot a hole lot cheaper. We only buy grocerys twice a month so I must find the best possible way to spend out grocery money.

We also found out that by buying a beef once a year and having it processed we have saved even more money. So we eat really well during the year.

Now If I could only just figure out how to start putting money back so that we could have some savings that would be great. We have two credit cards and by march of this year we will have them paid off, thank the lord! They have been nothing but trouble for us.

I wish you the best, and Happy New Year.

Your Cousion

Oh Hon, I haven't read all your plans yet. I'm sure they are wonderful though. You have a good head on your shoulders! {It's not only pretty but it's filled with brains too!}

What I had to do this instant, is come and say THANK YOU for the wonderful comment you make in 'smilnsigh' today. First sentence was; "I remember feeling JUST as you did when I first got my camera."

Now THIS is what I really, really, really needed to hear! From someone who has "been there, done that, got the T-shirt." ,-) Been through the new camera thing.

I never saw your pictures "deteriorate" when you began with your new one. And just look at this amazzzzzzzzzzzing photo, which is at the bottom of this entry! All sorts of great things going on, in this photo! I'm not skilled enough to have the right words of camera-praise but... I seeeeee it. I just can't describe the effect.

And you probably just noticed that interesting form of the limbs and vines, and shot it... And look at the photo you got!!!

Yes, I will keep at it. Yes I will not give up and just use Automatic. I'll get that pic of snowflakes yet! And of the moon, with enough zoom to really have it look neat.

And you will capture lightening!!!!!!!!!!!!! ,-) And we will toast to the wonder of each other, when we do!!!

Hugssssssssssssssssssssss,

Congratulations Christina! I would say that is HUGE accomplishment-to pay off both credit cards this year! Wow! You should be VERY proud of yourself. When I was going through that all I kept thinking was "All this money is going to be able to go into savings VERY soon!" Be encouraged! All the money you are socking away to pay off your debt can go towards savings come March! Good for you!

It was really nice to hear from you!

Mari-Nanci~the photo is NOT amazing, but the tree certainly is...wouldn't you say? Still my mind boggles at how it came to be that way...

I definitely understand what you are saying about Walmart! I can hardly ever shop there without buying way more than I planned to or needed, simply because they have so much variety and everything SEEMS like a good price, but even good deals add up quickly. Fortunately there aren't any Walmarts too close to where we live (closest one is ~30 minutes away) so there isn't as much draw because of the long drive.
Another great savings account that I have used to reduce spending/increase saving is a certificate of deposit (CD)...you can often earn pretty good interest on these, and the temptation to withdraw from them isn't there because there's a penalty for withdrawing before the specified time period (usually 12 mo.). Just something to look into...
Happy New Year!
