What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow. ~ Martin Luther

5 years to mark

(above: Our Aunt Carol gave us five bottles of wine in celebration of the fives years we've been married...)
This weekend was Matts' and my anniversary, five years. Coincidentally, he had to return to where we used to live for a dairy seminar, and so we were able to plan a harried and full-to-brimming visit back home. No matter how long the visit is, there is never enough time to do all that we would like or see all we would like to see.

So-I was absent from blogland, living the frenzied life of a four day traveler.

With the sweet after-taste of our anniversary still looming, I find myself quite reflective of the five years of marriage past and the, Lord willing, many more to come. I wish I could expound more upon what is in my heart and on my mind this day, but the posting of all these MANY pictures has stolen away all my precious time PLUS some and so, I will have to sacrifice those thoughts and keep them for myself for today.

I will say only that these past fives years have been a wonderful surprise in so many ways and have turned out, in some ways not anything like we might have expected and yet, still in others exactly as we had hoped. The Lord has been gracious to both of us, as we have shared our lives and love these past five years, unconditionally with one another. I trust that it will be so for us in the future, as we enter a pivotal moment in our lives and in the lives of our family. This year will be one of great decision-making and will be a turning point in our lives and while we pray for wisdom and seek His guidance, I know with whole-hearted confidence, that the next fives years will undoubtedly hold the same as the first. We will find ourselves in situations we never thought possible at times and right where we knew we WOULD be, at others-but always, we will be pleasantly surprised.

Life if pleasant~ no matter what, no matter where, and no matter how-just as long as you share it with the one whom you love.

Happy, happy anniversary! Wow, nice gift from your Aunt Carol. She could be very instrumental in creating a great wine cellar for you.

Rebecca,

Belated "happy Anniversary" wishes to you and Matt. I pray that you have many, many more happy years together and they are filled with blessings from above.

My sweetheart and I celebrate 25 years on September 24th. The years pass all too quickly. :-)

Belated Happy Anniversary!

And what a lovely entry. If you both keep this attitude, I'm sure it will stand you in good stead, in all your future years together.

Hugs,
